Camp name that does the streaming?

Post by danibel » Sat Aug 16, 2014 3:08 pm

Hello!

I seem to remember that it was Camp Envy that did the live stream of the burn. Is there more than one? Perhaps I missed the details in a JRS?

I would like to donate some $ to the camp that does this as a thank you. I think last year there was some trouble with the stream but the previous years were great and even had a chat board that was soooo fun! Since I can't leave home until Tuesday night I watch the early part of the burn on the stream and enjoy every second. What a gift! Also my mom likes to login on burn night and watch. :D

Any tips or links appreciated!

Not sure of the camp name but here is the link: http://www.ustream.tv/burningman. It goes live on the 23rd.
The playa isn't "home" to anything or anyone, it's not magic, it's just a goddamm camping trip. A really awesome one. -Captain Goddammit

I'm giving this a nudge over to the Q&A board, since that's a better fit for the general questions and discussions.

Thanks Trilo. I wasn't sure where to put it.

And on that note - do you know if the ustream is done by the org? I always thought it was a camp, but I could be totally wrong. It seems that a lot of people that can't make it to the burn call themselves "camp envy." Cute.

The webcast is managed by the BMORG communications department. They had equipment issues last year, and a people change from the year before.

I'm not aware they are seeking financial contributions.

"Camp Envy" is indeed just what the burners who can't make it out there call themselves. It's not a real "brick & mortar" camp, virtual only.

Well then, I guess my ticket is helping to pay for this awesome community service. I do hope the new folks/equipment for this year works better than last. I am looking forward to the live stream on the 23rd! Whee!
