Benzy, your post provides no information about what charge controller you are even thinking of purchasing. In fact, your posts contain virtually no detailed questions or information at all except some variation of "I want to use electricity on playa."
For your charge controller, go read or look up the manual because your charge controller will probably have specifications that declare its maximum ratings, including whether it can handle "140+ degree F" temperatures. You could be purchasing something that already has a heatsink, fan, or must be indoors, or is being mounted to a solid block of iron, or has an open case, or can run on the Moon for all we know. It doesn't sound like even you know. Inspecific specifications and questions will return you answers that over-engineer your solution to cover all different cases.
We're not going to hand-hold you or anyone for generic "I'm a noob" questions that are so general and unresearched that pretty much any response would becomes a tutorial. Those are called "stupid questions" -- questions that are inappropriate to ask because the person asking hasn't done their due diligence on the topic as revealed by the inspecific or unresearched question.
It doesn't mean you're stupid. It just means you need to do enough homework to know the right questions to ask -- specific and detailed questions that you already tried to look up.
Harsh? Unhelpful? More like not-so-radical self-reliance. Please come back when you've done more research into this yourself and have some specific questions to ask.
