Shoes & Socks and their relation to your tent.

I have been to 12 burns. Before my first burn in 2004 I got some solid advice from a campmate: Never bring your shoes inside your tent, and wear socks at all times (unless you're showering or chilling in your tent.)

The first tip: "never bring your shoes inside your tent" will go a long way to reduce the amount of dust you tromp inside your tent.

The second tip: "always wear socks..." will prevent your feet from becoming a cracked bloody mess during the week.

I'd like to add a third tip: bring two pairs of socks for everyday you plan to be on the playa. During the hot days you'll be sweating a lot, and if you're like me you'll take a nice shower as the sun is starting to set, so having a fresh pair for the night is going to be very welcome by your feet.
