The Israeli and current issue US military masks have the advantage o no having to remove the mask for a filter change.
I had the first one when I was in the Army and when I asked in Basic what happened if your filter had to be changed and you were still in a contaminated area. Drill Sgt said simply, "You're dead private"

I do like the Israeli mask.. The filters in the east German masks are a pain to install even if you're not in a dangerous situation.
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..

It is an East German/Czech M-10 Mask.. Similar to the M-17. I'm not familiar with the M-17, but the intake diaphragm assembly on the M-10 has a tiny plastic key holding it all together. It breaks easily, and makes the mask pretty much useless.CapSmashy wrote:That's not an East German mask, that is a genuine US military surplus M-17 gas mask.TomServo wrote:I do like the Israeli mask.. I have that one as well. It is 'cooler' looking than the Israeli one, and that bag comes in handy.SilverOrange wrote:...and it keeps the buttcrack playa free!robotland wrote:More MY style...
My favorite...
Cheap, comes with a cool bag, and if you need to you can shoot a rifle with it on. (Sorry, lefties.)

Then its a copy of the M-17. US military began using that style in 1959 or so.TomServo wrote: It is an East German/Czech M-10 Mask.. Similar to the M-17. Terrible design do to the filter placement and inability to change filters on the fly.
M-17:

AH! One difference I see is that the EG one does not have a drinking tube.

I love my drinking tube, I just wish it was a little longer. Works nicely with a power hitter as well.
Oops, did I say power hitter? Uh, I meant to say.....umm...positive pressure ventilator. Yeah, thats it

Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.
