I wore sandals the last time, I was just thinking is there something more clever to wear?

There is always something more clever...depends on your level of creativity...

but, we're curious...did you happen to notice anything going on around you last time in terms of footwear?

It would be clever if you wore knee-high boots while shirtcocking.

Add some tall tube socks pulled up to your knees and you are golden.

They also make a sandal. Both comfortable and airy.

How well do the feet hold out in Teva type sandals? Maybe even with socks?

DONT DO IT! YOU'LL BE MISTAKEN FOR A GERMAN TOURIST, OR WORSE!*

(of course, if you combine said tevas with black socks and sock garters, then you will be a fashion god, but not many are willing to go the whole nine all for the sake of style)

read my signature, tevas are SO out they're almost in.

Playa Dust IS super fine ssssssooooo It gets in everything... this means even if your wearing the socks with the sandals Your feet will take a beating!

So if you wear sandals don't bother with the socks 'cause they are NOt going to help much and YOu Look LIKE a real GEEK!!
In the default world~ I Hate Shoes ~ wear flip flops most of the time OR my Pink Rubber Boats ( get more complements on the pink rubber boots than ANYTHING I have Ever worn)
Last year went with a virgin and HE had to do Everything his OWn WAy~ this includes wearing his Teva Sandals the WHole Week. By the time We got back to Seattle - He said his feet were really hurting Him.

SOoooooooo Just MY 2 cents BUT COVER YOUR FREAKING FEET!!!!! ANd LIGHT YOURSELF AT NIGHT!!!!
If I were to wish ANYTHING I'd wish I were ME!!

Socks make sandals worse out there, the dust combined with the fabric = sandpaper for your tootsies.

sport shoes, flashy material and hot glue

Post by stack » Sun May 31, 2009 10:49 am

I found this tip on youtube last year before my first burn and followed it. Worked great. Hot glue some sparkly material onto an old pair of tennis shoes. While somewhat hot during the day since you'll be presumably wearing socks, my feet were fine afterwards.

Here's a link to the vid: starts talking about shoes around 8:20.

OK - Tevas are out - even wearing them with Scottish knee high socks with flashes like when I wear my kilt. No - the kilts stays home. Too bloody expensive to wear on the playa. Back to tennis shoes or boots. Probably hiking boots since the other boots I currently have wear have steel toes. Might be a little unconfortable in the heat. Decisions decisions and we have less than 100 days to make them.

I get my shoes at the Goodwill Thrift Store. Only 5 bucks a pair, so I don't care if they get thrashed. Boots are 15 bucks, even the tan desert boots the boys at the local airforce base unload after discharge. Good BDU's too.

If you wear a new pair of shoes and then take them off, they are already used. I don't mind wearing second hand shoes, but I can see why some people don't want to share "history" fashion.

There's a lot of funky fashion in thrift stores; vintage , antique, weird.
