I don't think I'll be naked...
... but I'm not very good looking. Should I cover my face as well?

Beef? No, just took an interest. What, am I not allowed to have personal opinions now?Bob wrote:How broad of you.AntiM wrote:LOL, I respect YOU, not necessarily your point of view. I understand it, but I think you'd benefit from a little broadening of your horizons.
Intentionally or not, Burning Man for the last fifteen years has cultivated a *look* and *feel* of soft-core porn. They've paid people from the porn industry to produce art projects. A majority of the people images they catalog in the Image Gallery are what you might categorize as pretty people, albeit not the "naked old and unattractive", for which we maybe should blame the photographers flooding the art dept. with their cheesecake crap, blablabla.
So with all due respect, while I have only a vague idea what the basis of the OP's complaint is, what's your beef as an eplaya rent-a-cop, wrt to policing this thread so closely?

While Purf and Cassanova may very well be an extremely attractive, close-minded, and judgmental couple, I think I may have spent too much time on the internet to believe it.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that I legitimately believe that we've all been trolled, then sockpuppeted.
Go to a rave instead, or go back to 4chan

okay to set the record straight i never said anything about having a problem with the issue of any naked people... i don't judge people based on their appearances and consider myself to be somewhat openminded thank you very much...Optic wrote:While Purf and Cassanova may very well be an extremely attractive, close-minded, and judgmental couple, I think I may have spent too much time on the internet to believe it.

what i don't understand is all your (not just you optic but several people on this thread) doing is jumping to such radical conclusions about my boyfriend and I's morality and character and doing so with such CLOSED MINDS.. fucking open your own minds people just because my bf doesn't particularly care to see a 50 year old dick doesn't mean he's going to judge said person's character based on the number of wrinkles his balls has.
i can now see though that this age range is very sensitive about the subject and hostile towards anyone who might not agree that they're aged bodies are something that should be on display... while i totally support your right to enjoy your naked bliss at BM i think i will distant myself in order to avoid any negative blows towards my young naive character from you easily upset oldies.
if you need us we'll be where ever the young and pretty people are, completely nekkid.

and we arent trolls!! not that i even know what the fuck a troll is!

PrincessPurf, you seem genuinely nice so let me try to put some perspective on all this crazy stuff.
None of this is really personal. Its an Internet board. I and others like the both of you plenty fine. Spurts of emotions may come up but overall we will accept most folks into the Playa and ePlaya family.
This thread may have been serious for a page or two, but long time ago it went into the sphere of entertainment. I know I'm just playing in here. I'm sure you will do well if you start thinking of it in a fun way. That's all it takes.
Remember that this is the 25th anniversary of Burning Man. There is ALLOT of history here. You should have seen me 25 years ago.
We are a bit grumpy after all these years.
If you want to understand more about the trip you are about to take, look up Cacophony Society and research the history. Look up "zone trips" and follow the offshoots of what this movement has inspired.
And most importantly, all of the board regulars are really good people. I cant speak of the random posters but the core is fine folks that will stop and save your bacon in a hot second. Just plain good people. I love them and argue with them daily.
If you feel the snark getting to you, just walk away from the thread for a day or two and move on to more fun stuff here. No one will think less of you.

LOL, good luck, you have never seen such an age mix as at BM.PrincessPurf wrote:if you need us we'll be where ever the young and pretty people are, completely nekkid.![]()
Also wondering is it just old nakid people?
what about those heavily tattoed?
body modifcations?
heavily pierced?
those nakid being lead around by their piercings?
amputees?
massive scarring?
birth defects?
we come in all sorts of damaged bodies.
I mean really you two will be fairly, YAWN, normal in contrast.
which is also ok.

There was a 20 year old girl that worked for me many years ago. Vicky (her real name) was strikingly cute. She grew up with incredible "girl next door" looks, a perfect body and a sweet smile---and she knew it. She tried out to be a professional cheerleader, but didn't quite make it. I don't think I have ever met a prettier young lady.
She set her sights on Tom (his real name too) and she dated him for a while. He was a handsome guy about her age. What a beautiful couple they made--a true Barbie and Ken.
I attended the picture perfect wedding and wished them well. A short time later, she left her job to start a family.
She gained a few pounds after having a baby, but still maintained her "I'm beautiful, you're not" attitude. Just a few years later, this girl gained so much weight, that she can't get through a doorway. She still has that demeanor of a striking young beauty, and truly doesn't realize that she is aging, fat, and not the perky little girl she once was.
I know, being a bit older and with some wisdom, that within 5 short years, Casanova and PrincessPurf will be looking in a mirror and be thinking, "what the fuck just happended to us"! Enjoy your "glory days" kids, they will be replaced very soon by experience, wisdom and a few battle scars.
EDIT for one more thought: You'll know you hit this stage, when you are standing in line at a fast food restaurant, and the pimply faced high school kid working there says, "can I help you SIR?". Remember how cool you thought you were in high school? Looking back, it doesn't seem so cool anymore, does it?

I think what people are reacting here is that Casanova kicked this thread off with words that were - intentionally or not - hurtful, insulting and offensive.PrincessPurf wrote:what i don't understand
And so far there hasn't been even hint of regret, remorse or even basic human empathy.
But those states can be hard to access when you're feeling attacked, which I imagine he must be, because it isn't true that (as someone close to me is fond of saying) "Pretty people don't have feelings like real human beings."
May you be happy, healthy, safe and live very, very, very long lives in full possession of your faculties.
I don't know why I let these two get to me for a second. Clearly Trolls.PrincessPurf wrote:fucking open your own minds people just because my bf doesn't particularly care to see a 50 year old dick doesn't mean he's going to judge said person's character based on the number of wrinkles his balls has.
At least the nude bike ride is back on. Something came out of this.

I don't really recall seeing many naked people - but I also might not have noticed, since most of the burns and pagan festivals I go to are chock-full of them.
I find the attitude that some people are ugly to be unattractive.
I don't give a shit how hot you are, if you're a dick I ain't putting up with it. And I will not put up with it publically, if need be.
It's so incredibly boring to be so superficial.

See what he did there? He corrected your spelling then called you a hypocrite to show that he doesn't recognize irony.Casanova wrote:*offendFIGJAM wrote:His eyebrows affend me.......make him cover them up!

At the same time, he misspelled "hypocrite" to show that he does understand irony. Brilliant!
(That is what you were doing, right?)
I just want to hug the kids at this point.
They are cute, purtee and young.
Reminds me of the time in 2001 when I was aa trip guide for a buddy that put down some shrooms. I remember going out to the big maze that was between the man and the temple.
It was Friday night before gate opens and back then you could just show up anytime and get in.
Despite the maze being half built, it was very fun to to be a guide and lead the trip with subtle suggestions.
Mutaytor and Megavolt were doing a jam in the distance, tesla coil cracking the playa into submission, Emerald City was lit up like a beacon of green with high powered lasers painting the mountains.
A dozen fire cannon cars were blasting away in a mock battle mid playa.
The megaphone asshole from Milwaukee was tearing up the playa in his beater and slinging whitty drunk insults at all comers ...
How did we come to this ...
