Gotcha. I'm not seeing anything taller than 16's at first glance and nothing below $300. Wesco and Carolina are two that I found that tall at 16", the Wellco has a long ship time as apparently they make the linesman's to order, maybe adding extra height to it is a possibility. Still rather salty though. I did like the extra thought on them adding a steel plate and extra flap of leather right where you'd be wearing the boot climbing.

I am not sure I could get my wide feet into boots like that much less walk in a heel that high. I don't know how the ladies do it.

Fufa I may be too late here but I wear pull-on biker boots everywhere, very comfy all day and no problem to get them on or off when I am (ahem) impaired. I bought them a half-size big so they accommodate any kind of sock. They have a nice playa-dust patina now 8) and I love 'em. 10-mile boots for sure, and they barely cost me a hundred dollars.

I am lusting after these so bad! http://www.ariat.com/Western/Women/Footwear/Fatbaby/RodeobabyEnvy.html?color=PUNCHY_TAN ARIAT Rodeobaby Envy. They look gorgeous and are functional to boot. They also have a zipper up the back which after last year and all the trouble I had with my boots and lacing, I need.

My boots are officially broken in, after wearing them for nearly the whole weekend at a motorcycle course. Now I'm on the hunt for a good set of lace in zippers.

One year we had a pair of women's New Rocks in our camp's communal costume exchange that were very popular. Hard to find in the US: http://www.newrock.es/. Very burnerific. Stiff soles.

I would try my bike chain lube (White Lightning, "Clean Ride" variety) on a zipper. Other folks have reported good results with even lip balm. :)

Take a regular ole pencil with you. Run it up and down your zipper whenever you need, the graphite lubes it right up again without being sticky and attracting more dust.

I feel like that sentence is way dirtier than it is.

In addition to the phrase "run it up and down your zipper," this post manages to include the words lube, ride, lip balm, sticky, attracting, pain, get...off, and chain, as well as a reference to something called "White Lightning: Clean Ride." Dirty, indeed!

There are times when I second-guess & edit my wording because I know it sounds filthy, and certain people are going to have a field day with it.

Other times, I just let Ygmir win. :D

I absolutely second using White Lightning on zippers. I had a tent that you (literally) couldn't open any more, White Lightning made that zipper fly out of my hand (figuratively). It rocks for zippers on the playa.

I wore my Army GP boots for most of the burn last year and they were awesome, WIN.

I also made the dumb ass move of taking a pair of new sneakers I hadn't broken in yet, FAIL. I though, nah my feet will be fine. what a stupid move. Note to all "Do not take new shoes to the playa".

:)

P.S, I also recommend spending a day on the playa barefoot, Embrace the earth.
