Sources for last minute Sarongs
Gime suggestions folks. This year I plan on sporting these for most of the days and have two. But would like more. Any help would be appreciated.
Danke.

I'm not sure where you're located, but if you're near any kind of semi-large city, head for the downtown shops and look for one of the import stores. Sometimes sarongs are displayed as wall hangings, but they can be used as sarongs if they're the proper size and fabric (thin cotton type material is best). That's where all, but one of mine came from. The last one came from a swimsuit store as a beach cover-up. They tend to be cheaper at the import stores though. Hope that helps!

If you can wait until you get into Reno - if you pass through Reno - you can find really nice sarongs at a couple of spots here. You can go to the Melting Pot, which is on Virginia a few blocks couth of downtown. The store closes the week of Burning Man, though, so you have to get there before monday. You can find them at Tradewind beads, which is on Wells Ave. near the intersection of Wells and Virginia. Beads Etc. has nice ones and it's located in the Smithridge shopping center next to Trader Joes. Art Dogs and Grace (one of the coolest spots in town) has them and they are at the corner of Wells and Vassar. Good luck.
Thanks to Addis, I had more free time.
Or you could go cheap and do it my way.
I go to the fabric store and pick out cheap 48 inch fabric that pleases me and buy two yards, I have a 36 inch waist and am 6'4 so you may have to adjust. I take the fabric home and on the cut ends fold over about 1/2 to 1 inch, iron and then use fabric glue to keep the fabric from fraying. Done.
I don't know if you are male or female but what follows is a more or less traditional male wrap.
Hold one end of the fabric on your left hip.
Wrap the rest all the way around your waist passing over your left hip
until you get a couple of inches from your right hip.
Pleat the fabric back to your left until it is about the same distance
from your hip as the right side. Pleat back just short of the original fold.
Fold the hem under and roll the waist band down to hold the sarong on.
You have now spent about 4-6 dollars and have an extra rag to wipe the car off on Monday.

I like playing with fire.
Hippies on Victorian Avenue in Sparks has nice things. If you are in the Reno Area, this Thursday afternoon (4 p.m. to 9 p.m.) Sparks has the Farmers Market on Victorian Avenue. Steve and Loren have a booth of beautifully tie dyed clothing, including sarongs. They are not expensive and you can find other nice things as well.

Try a seconds store like Ross or Marshall's, whatever they have in your area and hit the swimwear section. I even saw a bunch in one of those salvage grocery stores for $5 each. Guess I should've snagged them. Bed Bath and Begone has wall hagings for college studetns that should provide fabric for about $20. There's always ebay, but it is getting kinda close ...

Sarongs
Thanks for the tip on fabric glue and the fabric store. I did that last night and found some absolutely wonderful safety orange courderoy! So that will be one sarong that can be used at night too as it'll keep me very warm!
Another word about the fabric glue. THat stuff is amazing and is totally helpful with my idea for insignia covering. I have some black fake fur and have been cutting little squares that I glue over commercial logos! Fun stuff.

ah Balls to a Sarong. GO without , go au natural!
Watch out for Pantzooka Patrol (those that have taken it on their own to provide pants to the pantless). Pantzooka Patrol prefers all naked to top wearing only people. I hear they are going again this year and will have no pantie canons. I asked someone and they said "yes of course they are clean, but we sell the used ones after to the BMORG and Chupa Cabra Police to fund their trip. I havent had that confirmed yet from the Chupa lads yet.

Au natural
Since my butt's whiter than a goth's forehead, I can't. I'd blind someone or get a 4th degree burn and have to sit on it for a week and that'd suck worse than the attack from the Pants Cannon. Although I think that the PC is one of the best ideas there is to really solve the shirtcocker problem.ah Balls to a Sarong. GO without , go au natural!
Besides, how can anyone say no to orange courderoy? No one can. It's like a conundrum in an enigma wrapped in a contradiction, slathered thick with spreadable sarcasm. You just can't do it.
