Playa trout? My bananas are for 'girls night in' or the potassium deficient. Maybe to feed the sock monkey. Hell, I can't be expected to remember everything! Oh, I was gonna wrap them around my face to keep out the dust. Hummmm. I better rethink this.

Evap cooler yes. Monkey hut, big yes! Pair of air Jordan's with busted velcro top. Cut off velcro tops and used for goggle strap holders, and the sneakers worked great as comfy walking/biking shoes. The mister was awesome from cleaning stuff to cleaning myself to being the official mister for critical tits (5 sec max rule in effect).
Not so well... Inverter never worked with car Batteries. Had to rely on whether I was given power from camps solar or genny. Organization of crap and just one too many ziplocks made me wish for an ikea organizer or two.

Whatkinda worked was my carport. It didn't keep anything very cool but it did keep the wind out. I was given a great idea about how to make it cooler! May not bring it next year though. I'm downsizing. I'll be fixing up my van and sleeping in it. It'll be comfy cozy and very private
Plus I can carry more comfortably.
What worked great was my Camp Chef stove/oven combo and my coleman camp stove. I was able to cook massive amount of bacon in no time flat! I was able to feed a lot of great people around where I was camping. I made scrambled eggs and coffee too. I figured the folks going home could use a good breakfast on their way out, and I didn't want to take it all home!

Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Success: spreadsheet to keep track of sign installation, pottie friends and sign removal. Sweet!
Clearly marked "Just Plain Water" jug. It was originally for teeth brushing, but became invaluable to so many other uses.
Zip tied shade instead of bungee cords. Way more sturdy.
No fly on tent - just let the dirt in so the tent doesn't collapse.
Two (2) piddle buckets avail for when the real dirt storm catches one by surprise.
COLOR DUCT TAPE! It was highly visible and interesting to look at.
Epic fail: sort trash the right way and don't get stuck in a 30 yard dumpster. Nuff said.
The Final Wipe-up is forthcoming. Stay tuned to All About Participating in the Pottie Project thread (shameful self promotion plug).

Not going this year really didn't work for me.
I'll have to try and rectify that next year.

Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Three bins of clothing, and only about one bin's worth worn.
Last year I figured out that just because it's Burning Man doesn't mean I'm suddently going to like frilly, excessively furry, or neon stuff. And I don't like stockings, which I find to be uncomfortable.
This year I learned that I also should leave dresses behind and just stick to more versatile, interchangable items like skirts, shorts, leggings, tank tops and jackets. Also, I spent a bunch of time over the past couple of years making a fur hat, flowery headbands, and a decorated sunhat, but since I wear my hair in two buns on top of my head all week none of them have been used. Instead I tie pieces of lace, scarves, or bandanas around my head as headbands, which serve to keep my hair smoothed back and add decoration.
Gloves, arm warmers and leg warmers are also essentials for me because they can be easily stuffed in my bag and then accessed as needed as the night (or early morning) gets colder.
I think I've come to terms with the fact that I don't wear non-functional accessories or uncomfortable clothing on the playa.

Re: What 'worked' and what didn't make the cut.
I'm planning and assembling the components for my shade structure next year. It will be a fabulous tent that looks like an old fashioned 'big top' circus tent. I'm pretty sure it has the aerodynamics of a giant Frisbee. Then it'll look like a flying saucer and be listed next year as a miserable failure. Nope. Can't stop. Must do it. It's too intriguing NOT to go ahead. It will be constructed entirely of medical walkers and a parachute. Round, striped, pointy roof with a flag. Please stop me!!

When I get to THITD I'll register at info and if you want to see it 'take off' just stop by in the first wind storm. We'll have a hurricane party. (Yes, It's happy hour here in California).
