Great idea! Adding to my list. Thanks.Bounce530 wrote:I also have a sheet or two of blank stickers, the big Avery kind. They're great for giving a reminder to somebody about your camp address, and/or happenings. I slap them on peoples cups/water bottles, etc. I've also used them on the handlebars of my bike for notes to myself so I don't have to dig through the backback looking for a notebook/pen.
You don't have to be skinny, naked and under 30 to be a Hottie!

The most valuable thing to put one on is your CAMERA. So many are lost every year and there are so many people that found these and are trying desperately to reunite the cameras with the owners. They post some photos and try anything to identify whos camera it is.AntiM wrote:Also useful for sticking on things you own and might want back.
With a sticker attached, you will probably get it back in the mail without even looking for it, or posting desperate messages here.
EmilyD, quite a while back you asked about the lightweight backpack. Did you ever get the info you were looking for? PM me if you still need it.

Another camera trick is to take a pic of a piece of paper with all your info on it. Be sure to make it the very first pic, so when somebody finds the camera and turns it on that's what they'll see first, before all your naughty pervo pix...
What other people think about you is none of your business.

another good way of getting your camera back (if you are using a digital) is to take a picture with your info on it. Make it as fun, goofy etc as you want. that way if anyone finds it and goes through the photos they will see this and hopefully return it to you. I know I think on my camera you can write protect a photo so it doesn't get deleted and makes it easy to find.!Shambala wrote:The most valuable thing to put one on is your CAMERA. But seriously...
3L Camelback filled with a 50/50 mix of water and gatorade or similar electrolyte drink.
Snacks
Extra goggles
Maybe an extra head scarf
Ashtray
Extra lighter and smokes
Pen and notepad
TP
sunscreen
couple of half liter water bottles (I've drained the camelback before while wandering, if I hit my reserves, back to camp to replenish)

After several years of using metal utensils, I switched to heavy plastic camping ones. One thing I didn't figure is that everytime I would turn my back after eating, a helpful campmate would throw them away thinking they were just disposable plastic. I am forever digging them out of the garbage bags. I may have to go back to the metal ones.

See, that's what I love about mine. Don't have to keep up with three seperate things, easy to lick clean (like me) and obviously not trash.Shambala wrote:After several years of using metal utensils, I switched to heavy plastic camping ones. I have a titanium spork, and a set of stainless steel chopsticks in a metal case. The chopsticks are like tiny pool cues, they are in two pieces and you twist them together.

My heavy duty plastic ware, very colorful, is dwindling. They get tossed, overheated, crushed, and in one case, etched with mystery fluid. Yes, I've dug through trash. One year I had a cookout, my nieces threw the bamboo plate holders in the trash. Some people's kids, honestly.
