polyester costume

Post by akatom » Wed Aug 10, 2005 5:12 am

I had just fallen in love with this white polyester suit on ebay, when my weak fashion spider-sense said something about polyester not breathing in the hot sun. Being a virgin from East Coast, I don't know what to think.

With an umbrella to block the direct sun, would white polyster wear well when wandering on the playa? Or is it a death-trap?

It very well may suck to wear that during the day.

Probably ok for night tho.

Bring it! Sheesh, I bet it looks great! I'll take a photo of you in it and post it on the Web for all your friends to see. If it's too hot to wear in the day, wear it early mornings, sunset, and night.

When stop shopping was on the playa, they had a crew of sekrit surviss agents in black suits, white shirts, ties, wayfarers, and earpieces stalking the playa all day.

Phil, that's just the reckless, heat-stroke inducing encouragementalsim I've been waiting for, and my friends are all demanding pictures. How did you know?! Now I'm back where I was yesterday, mulling over the burgundy cummerbund.

Louise and I are in Hushville, maybe 4:30 @ Ego. Look for our red and blue banner that says Civilized Explorer in green letters. We're having a fashion show around 2:00 pm every day from Wed through Sat, so _please_ come on by and we'll snap you.

Louise says she has a lime green silk and rayon scarf that will be _perfect_ to drape under the collar of your suit.

I hope that I will not be out of myself enough to wander by. Lime green is the awesome color!

Burning Man is all about looking good, not feeling good. I rock my kelly green bell bottoms every burn night and into the following day and I love'em (best of all you can come home, wash that bad boy and it'll be good as new for next year, polyester rocks!)

I have two polyester jumpsuits for larry, one is plain white and crying for an Elvis makeover, the other is tan and checks, I think it is an old Denny's uniform. He has yet to wear them, he gets into his utiliklt and unless I nag him to wear one of his dresses or miniskirts, he just wears the kilt all week.

I just love playing dress up with my mandoll. I can hardly wait until he gets into the pink tulle prom dress I found. He'll balk at the tiara though.

For some reason there are always two or three white jumpsuits at our local thrift shop. I just found wearable wooden shoes too!!!! Talk about uncomfy ...
