How humid can it be to use a swamp cooler?

Greetings, all.

I was looking into building a FIGJAM swamp cooler for the burn this year, and was wondering if I should give it a test run on my Canadian fishing trip earlier in the summer. The temperature swings there can be as wide as reported for the playa, but getting rain in bucketsfull is also not unusual, and the sand can steam for a day after such a rainstorm. And there is an actual river running past my proposed campsite (where I do some of my fishing). So the ambient humidity at minimum is still higher than the playa, and could get significantly higher.

So, would a swamp cooler still work in such potentially more humid conditions, or would I be disappointed in its performance?

I'm curious to hear about other burners' experiences with cooling at some of the, uh, soggier regionals.

Swamp coolers are not effective at dew points above 55 F. The lower the dew point, the better.
