Last year I picked up a Kool tie at REI for like $11. Just looked and they actually have their own site with way more designs. They are filled with these tiny crystal balls that after you soak it for 30-45 mins it blows up. I know that sounds like a long time but worth it! I would just pop it in my cooler mid day or every night before bed and it lasts like 24hrs! Best thing ever! I wear it when I work outside in the heat. It is way better then those cooling towels and bandanas. Those things only last a few hours, if that. Whenever I got a little hot, I would flip the Kool tie around to the other side and it would cool me off again.
I wore it around my neck, but you can tie it around your head too. I just got another one and going to try wearing them on my wrists, since wetting ones wrists with ice or cold water cools the body as well.

Budget savvy? Or want your own design/pattern? Someone told me you can make your own with cotton fabric and crystal fillings from inside a diaper. So maybe tear up and old shirt and grab the closest diaper. Viola!

Those things actually work better than you might think. Wrists are good to keep cool as well. There are a lot of blood vessels close to the surface there and it will help to cool your whole body.
