Is 110 degree dry desert heat very different from..

Swamp Coolers, Cooler Management, Dry Ice, Misting Systems, and just plain how to beat the heat.

Hah.

The last four years, I went from Phoenix. Now that I'm back in Seattle I'm amused by how concerned everyone is about the playa heat.

The people from Phoenix go to BM to cool off.

What can I expect in terms of adapting to the desert heat?
LOL! Bring a sweater. (Seriously, bring a coat for after dark.)
Yeah, this is truth, not a joke! I have friends for New Orleans who go, and complain about how cold it is. Even if it's 60 at night, when you're out in the unprotected desert you can get extremely cold if you're used to warm climate. Bring layers!
