Air conditioner condensate

Post by Molotov » Tue Jul 01, 2014 7:47 pm

The roof air conditioner on my little travel trailer drips almost pure water condensate down the side and can leave a damp spot on the ground. Granted, this happens in humid East Texas and may not even be an issue in the near bone-dry air out on the Playa as it will only run during the heat of the day. My question is: Will this pure water dripping be a moop issue? It tends to fall in random areas down the side of the trailer, so it's not like I can put a catch pan under the drain. Just a drip here and a drip there.

I don't think so. I've never worried about it and I haven't seen anyone else do anything about that either.

As long as it doesn't make a big mud hole, you'll be fine.

Depends on how much you want to care (not being sarcastic). Like the Cap'n said, pure water isn't a MOOP issue, but if that water falls in one space & makes a hard spot it actually is one (thus the reason you're supposed to sprinkle your clean water, not just dump it). I would just check it during the week, if you notice it's hitting one spot, spread the wet playa out with a rake and then put a pan in that area.
