Greetings,
We are "Sons of the Southside" from Knoxville Tennessee. Is there anybody that would be able to help us feel out any oppurtunities for our band to play next year at the Burning Man Festival? We are a four piece band (drums, bass, guitar, guitar/vocal), we can bring all our own equipment, we require no financial compensation.
You can check the band online on facebook. Just search for Sons of the Southside.
We also have a website. The adress is http://www.sotss.net
It would truly be an honor to participate with you next august. We hope to see you there.
Sons,
Any room for a grungey little rock band from Knoxville, TN?

Re: Any room for a grungey little rock band from Knoxville,
You'll want to look at "Artists Seeking Stages" and contact folks in the "Stages Seeking Artists" threads at the top of this page . . . though it's a little slow this time of year.

And take a look at the Center Camp Café page--they're seeking performances. Lots of people will hear you play, if you play here:

(This year, Playa Info @ Center Camp also had a stage.)
Being ready to bring all your own equipment goes a long way towards being playa-ready (though you may get baby-powder-fine dust in everything, so don't bring the Stradivarius of guitars).

Re: Any room for a grungey little rock band from Knoxville,
as mentioned theres always the center camp cafe.. (so long as you are playing original work)
save up for a generator/power supply and you can be fully independant of needing any actual place to play..
you can do what many have done in the past.. just setup yer band somewhere on the man side of esplanade... so long as you arent annoying someone this seems to be ok...... ive seen people do this all through the night
theres tons of empty stages during the event.. in fact having an empty stage for people to use seems to be the most popular kind of theme camp in some neighborhoods at burning man..
if all you need is a place to plug in you can do it any place you want.. get some friends with a vehicle or get some big wagons.. and find a camp thatyll take you.. for reals, it will be easier than it looks!

Plenty o room out there. Don't expect to hitch hike is all.
Re: Any room for a grungey little rock band from Knoxville,
Definitely check out the Hair of the Dog Bar ..one of my favorite trashy bars on the playa..and lots of rock bands fly through there.
