Seeking Musicians for Marching Band

Postby Wally_burner » Fri Jul 27, 2012 9:47 pm

Greetings fellow burners,

We're forming a street marching band along the lines of the Fire Conclave All Stars, and we're looking for new members to fill out our ranks. We already have 10 or so members, both new burners and experienced players from bands like Titanium Sporkestra and Fire Conclave All Stars. What we'll be doing is playing some fun but easy to learn tunes with plenty of opportunity for improv at a number of interesting locations. Likely gigs would be the Mardi Gras at Bourbon Street and the Jazz Funeral for the Man (New Orleans style funeral), with other possibilities being a wedding, the Billion Bunny March, a set at Center Camp or a bar, or just wandering the playa, playing on art cars and entertaining the people. We are looking for woodwinds, brass (extra points for sousaphones!), and percussion.

This is a great opportunity to give back to your fellow burners by providing live entertainment (and they are grateful!), while having an awesome time to boot.

There's room in the band for everyone - professional musicians who want to solo, or people who just want to hang in the background, so don't be hesitant.

Here are some random clips of the Fire Conclave All Stars in previous years:

Post here or message me for more info.

It's gonna be a blast!
