'Tis true..one of our core leads in San Diego met with some of the main basshenge peeps at a party.. and the rest is history... they are one of the pods in our village.
Just saw this thread!! I agree with much of what was said here around concerns around commodification and how this whole fundraising plan works.. We've been holding off on a doing a kickstarter because we're trying to figure out how to do so in a way that will be successful AND not not make things exclusive or commodified, etc. Its pretty complex stuff! That initial point does sound on the level of Satirical though.. soaps? really.. i think they were just trying to say ..baby.. we are going to love you up with nekkid chicks bacon and our souls which we're willing to sell to make art.. totally golden intentions...
Anyhow..they went ahead and self-funded their project through a series of fundraisers in SD throughout the winter and spring.. anyway.. they are good peeps.. trust me.. hella fun to work with..
They will be installing a modified version at SSV! though we're not a sound camp but a spiritual art camps.. so this will be more of an art installation that focuses on visual projections..
