Anyone else actually EXCITED for BM 2012
Anyone else actually EXCITED for BM 2012
OK - so I've been stalking through the ticket forums, BM on facebook, and the 2012 event forums. I think today as I was reading through all the plans for theme camps, art cars, etc, I finally broke through. I'm excited for Burning Man 2012. Pumped, beyond ready to go. I'm planning on volunteering to help out with an art project, and have a small theme camp putting together (plan is to serve up charcuterie plates, you know all that good ham stuff).
I'm just curious, who else has moved beyond the ticket fiasco and is ready for some FERTILITY. Who else has that itch, yet again, to return to the playa? What's the best way to get the community (at least those with a ticket) beyond the mess and moving on to a state of excitement?
I'm ready for it. Are you?
This is my third year and I'm ready to bring it- the attitude, the art, and of course my own brand of spaztastic dancing. I hope to see all of you on the playa!
PS: This is party spurred by a few great burners I know who have tickets who are debating not going. To me this seems weird, strange, and beyond comprehension. Why would you take an event you love, have been to for 8 years, and just abandon it.

I am over the moon with excitement. My little camp is coming together, I have wonderful campmates and will be in the best village. Woot!

Wasn't really all that interested until scorned by the ticket fiasco. Now I'm just weird out. Typical for me in Winter.

Me too!
My plans have changed all around, but hmmm, should be interesting and I'm looking forward to it!
I think my plans will be in flux the entire burn!
It should be quite interesting this year...!!

I'm the only one in my small camp that got tickets. My brother-in-law from the Netherlands and I are going. We have no idea where we'll camp or with whom - BUT WE ARE GOING!!!!

No, not yet, haven't done the happy dance just because I have a ticket. So many friends are out in the cold. But the last few days I am starting to feel that 'ramp up' that happens each year. My fellow builder and i had a meeting to discuss improvements on our MV and that got me a little excited. Filling out the MV application also got the juices flowing a bit. It is just beginning to take hold.

A GREAT post! We have a small camp and all are primed to get going (even though it's stocked with a lot of birgins). Summer is going to be sooooo long....

Woohoo BM2012 here we come!
Ur just jealous cos the Voices are talking to ME!
Re: Anyone else actually EXCITED for BM 2012
Nope...can't get excited until the ticket thing gets settled. Tough to get over being left out, for now.
I have found other things to be excited about. Winter camping in Yosemite, sturgeon fishing in the delta, and a beach front rental on the Oregon Coast. That'll have to do for now.
BM is not a "need" for me, but damn, I sure "want" it bad....

Re: Anyone else actually EXCITED for BM 2012
Getting ready for the next burn begins almost before the last one ends and is a daily pursuit throughout the year for me.
Once the tickets are selling and the theme is known, it's full steam ahead! I'm getting excited now as people are starting to come together and plans are being made. I try to not get hung up on the ticket thing or other issues beyond my realm of influence. It's all about bringing people together to create something special.
Creating something special is what gets my panties(if i wore any) wet. To enjoy the company of my precious camp mates and push the buttons of strangers gets me excited more each day!
Hold on! It's gonna be a helluva ride!

Re: Anyone else actually EXCITED for BM 2012
Ya know what? I mofuggin am.
Our camp will be there this year, with the best damn team of burners (our politburo) I could hope for that will make us slammin' good, way beyond anything I could concieve. With ticket estimates what they are, we have a crop of burgins that, if we can snag some good ones, will keep the fire lit AND make it a fun year for everyone - especially them. I know some of my best best friends, my fav lust objects, and even those comrades I have yet to meet, will be there. And around us, inside a 5 mile long trash fence, will be (with the exception of my totally awesome other half) my family. What else could I ask for? Really?

Re: Anyone else actually EXCITED for BM 2012
After being in a ticket funk for a long while, as the burnal equinox approaches I am getting more excited. We also started planning for 2012 before we even left the playa. All of those plans have fallen apart, but by changing plans and adapting to unplanned events as needed I expect our next burn to be even better than the last.
Every day I get more fired up about the burn. At this point my clothes are starting to smolder, but hopefully I'll make it to the playa before full spontaneous combustion occurs.

I waver back and forth.
I don't do big projects--the logistics are against me. But I've found some nice pieces of wayward art, and I'm trying to contribute to Apok and Swish Embassy, whether I go or not...

You can't abandon Burning Man because to do so successfully would require the city to be in a state of abandonment when you are complete. They can certainly take a year off and if you were ever thinking about it, this would be a very good year to do so.
I'm trying to get excited but every time I do, I start getting nervous about tickets so instead I'm just trying to hang in there and wait. No expectations, right?

Yeppers! I just left the ticket thing up to chance and hoped for the best. And the best happened for us so we are coming, pink fur and all. This is our one splurge for the year.
I hope all who want can get to come. I can't wait to play with y'all on the playa.
