Regular car feasible for two people?

Bikes, trikes, personal mobility and getting to/from the event - this is the place to discuss general transportation issues.

The only time dust will get into your intake is while the engine is running, which won't go very well if the intake is blocked. Seriously - don't worry about the playa screwing up the car. If the really, really overloaded 1993 Geo Prizm I helped make into an art car can handle 5 years of driving to/from the event plus hauling people across the playa all week then your 1999 Mazda can handle being parked there once. If the car can make it cross country it can handle the final approach to the event.

Wait to buy the bulk of your food and water until you hit Fernley. Keep the random "I don't really need this but might be cool so I'll bring it just in case" stuff to a minimum. Test everything at home and do a test-packing a week or so before you leave.

I also read on the Internet that you can replace you engine coolant with Gatorade to help prevent leaks while idling for 8 hours in exodus.

Just be sure to get the powder form and mix it yourself. Much cheaper that way plus the recommendation is for 1/2 strength.

I suppose Tang would also work.

If you want to be super green in exodus, a few water soaked tampons in the exhaust pipe will filter out a bunch of the exhaust crap while idling.

Do a quick dip of the tampons in some water and shove them in before they expand. Works just like wet cigarette filters and reduces your carbon footprint.

For some reason I'm feeling evil today.
