When you look at the Gate Road and Gate Wait times for BRC 2019 and 2018, you see just how well the structures and crew are doing in recent years. Looks like it's pretty much figured out in response to the 70,000 city size.
When you look into the details at what was happening when the times got longer, it was being handled, except for when there were whiteouts, particularily prolonged whiteouts. Even recovering relatively quickly when the recovery period still including intermittent whiteouts.
So if playa conditions are such that a stronger wind will pick that dust up, we're screwed. We're also screwed when vehicles on Gate Road speed and throw excessive dust up into the air that otherwise would have remained minor.
It will be interesting to hear if there are any horror stories that don't show up in the resolution of the BMT reports.

The nasty bit down on I-80 has crossed to north of I-80, still west of Wadsworth while they get the east edge rain. Looks like the west side Wadsworth exit through across Wadsworth is going to get its worst.
The one at Pyramid Lake is a little out on the lake now, but running down some.
Hints of the extended bunch to the NW crossing the CA border are reaching to the east, but it's not clear yet if any will rain on BRC.

It's one thing if rain or runoff reaches the edge of the playa and closes getting on/off the playa. It's entirely another thing if rain falls on those on Gate Road trying to get into BRC. And worse again if rain falls on BRC and shuts down 99% of movement.
As in, the playa dust/soil turns to sticky mud that sticks to tires. Those trying to drive and that mud packs into wheel wells, locking vehicles in place. Bikes are no go. Walking is difficult. Trucks can't empty porta-potties... and so on.
