Time to be at Burner Express Bus prior to departure
Hi, I'm seeking advice on the rule about getting on Burner Express: "Passengers should arrive at least 1 hour prior to their scheduled departure and 90 mins prior if you have a Burning Man ticket that is at will call." My ticket is will call, and I'm considering the option to get the flight that is landing 2:30pm at Reno Airport on Saturday. The last bus is at 4pm, so I can get in only if breaking the rule - I would be there 30-45min before departure, I suppose. The other option is to arrive to Reno the day before in the evening and take a sleep in the hotel and then take the bus 12pm. The first option looks much better, though the risk is not clear for me. Any advice is very welcome

I would recommend arriving the evening before, cheap hotel, big buffet meal at a casino, big long soak in the bath, a good night sleep.
Be refreshed, hydrated, clean before you jump into the adventure.
It will be the last night of good sleep you will get in the next 7-9 days.

The other benefit of staying in Reno a day or two before going to the Playa ...
~ 4500 foot elevation (~ 1300m).
This lets your body get used to the elevation while you are in civilization.
Most people from lowlands experience at least one day of altitude adjustment ... tired, headaches, cranky, irritable...
Get that out of the way before you hit the Playa.

I agree with everything others have said, but also there will be 8 million Burners wandering around the airport, you won't get anywhere on time. Also, you will inevitably forget something, arriving a day early gives you a chance to pick it up in Reno.
