Last stop for water

Post by pepedelaplaya » Mon Aug 20, 2007 11:57 pm

Dear Team,

Wondering where the last few reliable places for filling water containers might be found (coming from Vancouver). Streaming in for Monday dawn and don't want to get caught in too big a Burner water lineup. Thanks for the help, yo.

If you're coming from the north, I assume you're gonna go through Alturas, Ca, then over Cedar Pass to Cedarville. Cedarville is the last real town where you can get supplies.

do not fill from outdoor taps in Fernley, it may not be potable. Ask. Also, Gerlach and Empire are on water restrictions, be wary, water will be pricey, not free.

This was posted from Ranger Spice, who is on the playa now:

Jungo Road was not so kind to us this year, my fault as I was going faster;
Gar had one flat and trashed his tire, I had one and caught it in time. The worst though was a rock which found the main water tank drain on the trailer and knocked it off, we lost all our water. I was able to get a ½â€
