Do BM entrance gates close on Wednesday? Thursday? At all?

Post by InvisibleMan » Sun Jul 27, 2008 9:09 pm

I am going to BM for the whole week plus, but one of my european friends is having trouble getting all the time off work. He wants to come up the last friday to the following tuesday if he cant get the whole week off but someone told me that the gates close on wednesday this year to keep out such weekend warriors. Is this true or false? Thanks for your time and hope you can help me out with this so I can let him know.

Right back at ya.

Does your friend know there's no tickets sold at the gate this year? It would stink to come all the way from Europe to be denied at the end.

Yeah, thanks again. I made sure to tell him that one. What a change that is going to be. How many thousands will gather outside the walls in ignorance, begging and pleading and trying to lay siege to the city walls with no legal means of entry. There may be a riot.

I'll bring the popcorn. No wait, I'll just go get the popcorn from that awesome popcorn camp... Is that the Bruka camp? I can't remember.

Would the people who purchased tickets at the gate last year be on the mailing list?

I would like to hope that anyone planning on attending this year would at least give a compulsory glance at the Burning Man page, if for no other reason than to check ticket prices. If they're not willing to take ten seconds out of their day to find out if they can buy a ticket at the gate, then I'm more than happy to eat popcorn and watch them throw hissy fits. I don't envy the gate crew this year.

Yeah, I agree with you. I was just trying to think of any possible scenario where someone might have a legit reason for not knowing. I really can't think of one...

Mind sharing your popcorn?

Maybe we should post the name and address of the outlet in Reno, just so--ah fuck, Gate can give it to them. Or not, if Gate's cranky and the ticketless are acting like asses.

They stop selling at some point or when they run out of tickets.
