S.F. Baybridge closing 3rd or 4th

From KTVU.com channel 2:

Caltrans has been building a new eastern span and upgrading the western side of the bridge in the wake of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, which damaged the bridge and forced it to be closed for a month.

Ney said Caltrans is still figuring out how many days to close the Bay Bridge over the Labor Day holiday.

He said Caltrans definitely wants to reopen the span to traffic by 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, but has not yet decided whether the closure will begin the night of Thursday, Sept. 3, or Friday, Sept. 4.
