RV passengers - do they need seat belts by law?

Post by Lisa_M_Davies » Sat Aug 29, 2009 7:15 pm

Hi looking to ride share in my friend's RV, it is an old school one and does not have seat belts fitted in the back seats. What is the legislation about passengers?

I did a search, no time to repeat, but yes, everyone needs belts. However, they can not stop you for just that, so, of course, as usual, be a freak about speed limits, etc.

Or you can hit up an auto parts store and buy some universal seat belts and screw 'em into the wood cabinets the seats are usually made on. They won't actually do much for you but they'll be legal.
