Reno People

Post by tevo » Thu Jun 03, 2010 7:33 am

Is anyone from Reno here? By the time of the burn I'll be traveling in an RV fulltime, and thus will have my dog and a bunch of stuff I prefer not to bring onto the playa. Any suggestions on (1) a good dog boarding kennel and (2) a cheap storage place in Reno? Obviously the storage should be easy enough to find, so my bigger concern is finding a kennel that someone has some good experience with. Thanks!

Which is also conveniently located across the street from a black water dump station. (next to the gas station, but don't give them your money, the petrol place next door owns the dump station)
Not too much knowledge on the dog boarding front but I did notice yesterday when we were dumping our trailer tanks that this particular dog kennel was voted "Best in Reno" by something.
You can pick up your pup and drop your poop in one convenient stop!

I got the information from the phone book.
The Pet Playhouse had some extensive remodeling done a few years back.
From what I've heard, they need more room. Which is good, maybe the economy is getting better

For it being on 4th Street, its a nice, new, clean looking place. We always see a bunch of dogs playing in the big room that faces the street. I also believe it's them who take the dogs up to the Hidden Valley dog park from time to time. (very nice dog park here, even has a separate area for the little guys) If my mom ever decides she wants to burn, I'll have to take my dog there. Not too sure what to do about damn cat though.

Cozy Cattery in Verdi, west of Lakeside Trucking. 775-324-7387 Go west on 80 to exit 5 (East Verdi) through the new traffic circle just past Lakeside on the left. There is a yellow and brown sign

Seems to me that there is another dog place, uuuuhhhhumm, I want to say around Mill St and Greg St on the N/W corner?
I don't want to give any false information so next time I go by the place I'll make a mental note

I've seen that!
My cat is getting really old, I'd rather pay someone to housesit than send him off somewhere. He gets really upset just being in the carrier the 5 minutes to the vet. Id have to get him some kitty tranq's LOL! Then there is always the fun of getting a pill down a cat.

We're fortunate. Our neighbor cross the street likes cats and has three so if we go away, (like next week we're leaving for a "road trip" to Utah and hopefully the north rim), so she'll take care of our little menagerie.

Thanks everyone. Has anyone heard of Fantasia Pet Resort? I called them before I saw the replies and got a really good vibe, but it's tough not seeing the place in person first.

Helps to occasionally take cats for a ride in the cage.

People who can't get out often enjoy seeing one.
