Bike trailer & bike enough?

Post by Vittachitta » Wed Aug 04, 2010 11:02 pm

Would a bike trailer and bike be enough, do you think, to bring everything I'm going to need for the week in Black Rock city? I may not be attached to a vehicle, so can't leave a bunch of stuff in it like storage, and of course will have my water. I could probably "park" some of my water with my ride.

And yes, I will read the survival guide twice; thanks!

If your needs are simple the only thing to worry about would be water. Everything else can be downsized to a minimum. I assume you have a ride to and from the playa but are camping solo.

More details, please. Are you riding the bike/trailer to the playa from Reno? Being trucked in?

oh yeah, that makes sense to clarify; no, i am a '55 model and will NOT be riding said bike with trailer from the PNW to BRC! i am kind of like a turtle, with a removable shell, who is going to crawl into a big truck and end up in the desert.

I'm being trucked in and will have all my water and food.
I was thinking that my ride will likely let me park my water somewhere around his pad (i KNOW water is heavy....) while I figure out where to camp and/or meet up with someone who has put down the orphan flag (a few peeps have been talking via ePlaya about meeting up to camp, solo or solo-friendly, and we are sharing some resources).

thanks!
