Driving 395 conditions

Post by Trishntek » Sat Aug 28, 2010 5:28 pm

We are currently in Fernley waiting for tomorrow morning for the final leg to the playa and thought an update on conditions might be appreciated.

The mud slide is all clear and construction is non-existent until Reno. The wind was horrific north of Lee Vining so make sure you have plenty of lead in your pencil to weigh things down.

If you have not been to Reno for awhile, where 395 becomes Virginia St. is the beginning of the 395 freeway. But there are no signs giving you much warning! Just keep to the right and watch closely coming down the grade from Carson City.

It is mostly cloudy and breezy. Temperature at 5PM was 66 F. It is dry and no sign of rain.

Drive careful! See you in the dust!
