transportation question

as i know that biking is the main transportation in brc question if i were to say grab a mountain board and possibly something to catch some wind in or maybe a little electric motor would i be able to use it if i added brakes to it ?

I think we went through this a few months back. Those land-based sailboards are not permitted within the even boundaries, not even in deep playa.

I've seen motorized mountain boards out there, I'd assume they fall under the same as a go-ped...as of this past year no DMV required. But should be lit, and 5mph max.

Electric assisted bicycles were given the green light this year for limited speed and horse power. I believe based on nevada law for electric assisted bicycles.

I believe sail boards with a hinged sail that can be dropped are ok for use inside the event. I would definitely not use it on a street though. The larger fixed sail land yachts are strictly forbidden and can only be operated at the airport which is outside the event.

I'd go for it and build your contraption. It probably is stretching the rules a bit if you don't get it licensed through the dmv.... perhaps not if it has no seat and is below the equivalent of a 49CC engine. I'm a fan of multi power source transport and would like to see how this idea turns out.

but a electric engine a control for speed and some brakes and maybe ill get one of those mountain boards the have the straps to strap you feet in like snowboards

Whoa.. I don't think i would want my feet strapped into a motorized skateboard.. especially on the playa. That's asking for it..

http://www.trendtimes.com/mogassksc.html - under $400 on that site, 52cc vs 33, and even has brakes. I'd say get one of those. You'll end up spending the same on one that you build probably. I saw someone riding one out there and it looked killer..

In fact.. I think I may pick one up myself.. hmmmmmm....
