Hi everyone,
I'd like to transport extra water in our RV. I figure we don't really need to buy water before we go...we just need convenient containers.
Any suggestions on the best/most economical way to bring gallons and gallons of extra water?
Many thanks,
Allen
Best way to transport extra water in our RV?
How much water are you talking about? 40 gallons or under I'd just stick to the standard 1 or 2.5 gallon jugs. Most containers I've seen for sale cost at least $1 per gallon, which is what you can get pre-bottled water for.
What do you mean when you say "we don't really need to buy water before we go" ? You don't think you'll be able to buy water at the event, do you?

water containers
Hi Dork,
Thanks for your ideas. I was thinking 50-100 gallons.
No, I wasn't expecting to buy water there...
All I meant is that I suspected it was cheaper to buy containers and fill them up with our own water rather than buying full water jugs...but it sounds like in the 40 gallon and under range it's cheaper to just buy the water at Costco...is that right?
Does anyone have any thoughts for 50-100 gallons?

How much of that water will end up as grey water (toilet) and how much will be shower or dish water. I don't care how much you will drink, but understand there may not be anyone to pump out your waste tank. So i hope you will the porta potties for toilet use. Filter your dish and washing water to remove hairs and food particles and make sure you disperse it so it doesn't form holes in the playa from a single stationary hose. A plastic sheet spiked to the ground will do the job.
You can buy 50 to 100 gallon plastic drums but understand how will you move then once you get them filled! 5 gallon containers are easier to move about day to day.
