I'm pretty sure I'm gonna hit up some on playa training to at least work some gayte on sunday/monday. Seems likely there will be quite a need this year.

Not yet. Word on the street was that there will be trainings Thurs-Sun noon to six at the black hole. I should be able to make a sat, screw around for a while, then head over to the gate in a day or two.

I usually do other stuff, but have always been a little jealous of Gayte's ability to snark on duty.

I've already filled out the BM volunteer form. I work with other departments already. I heard from a fairly well informed person that I could just show up to a training.

I don't know if that's me personally, or if just anyone can show up for a training. To be honest, unless the training is super crowded, I'd assume that Gayte is ready to accept any and all capable people it can get. I mean, all signs indicate something of a cluster fuck this year at the start of the event. (to me at least)

Don't forget the Wednesday meltdown. My virgin year 'round about noon I started going twitchy and fetal, saying, "too much . . . too much." I was all embarrased about it but then a veteran clapped me on the shoulder saying, "Don't worry. It happens to everyone about this time."
