Will taxis in Reno transport bikes?

Post by Rebel514 » Fri Jul 01, 2016 12:35 pm

Will taxis in Reno transport a bike? Can they provide a bike rack (maybe for an additional charge) ?

Asking because I am trying to figure out how to get my bike and luggage from my hotel to the Reno airport to catch the Burner Express!

I've searched online and emailed some taxi companies but no responses yet.

Thanks in advance !

You might look at the venture-funded transportation service beginning with u combined with pedal. Most taxis require an explicit bike transport request, maybe a wait. Most full size taxis can put a front wheel off bike in the trunk with a bungee to hold the lid down and some padding to not scratch the lid or the bike. Sure our Reno experts have even more ideas. This is a good item for the BMORG to address.

Would also like an answer to this question - all these years later - do you think things have changed in Reno? Will I be able to get a taxi that takes bikes?

I'm coming from London so hiring a bike is the best option, but I would need to pick up the bike in Reno and then get to the Burner Bus!

It's been a few years but I've never had a problem putting a bike into a cab except that a Reno cab is tiny. When staying at the Sands (Thanks Doc) I've had good luck tipping the Bell Staff the night before and letting them know I was taking a bike and bags to the airport in the AM. An extra $20-$30 goes a long way.
Everyone is so politically fucked up that they're segregating themselves in the name of equal rights and liberation.
