August 23 Reno Travel Advisory

Post by trilobyte » Fri Aug 18, 2017 9:22 am

Heads-up! If you live in the Reno area, or will be traveling through Reno on Wednesday 23 August, be aware that the president will be in town giving a speech.

No, I don't imagine that any of you would want to drop everything and attend... but this could potentially cause some significant disruption to air, highway, and roadway travel. If I remember correctly, the secret service rules are: that no takeoffs or landings are permitted while Air Force One is on the tarmac; roads and sometimes routes are closed to make way for the presidential motorcade; and highways are closed in both directions, as well as all directions at interchanges (as well as over/underpasses) while the motorcade is driving through. Hopefully this means little to no disruption for your (or your campmates') travel plans.

Please feel free to post your Trump Ticket Begging™ and Presidential Motorcade Exodus™ memes below :D

so glad I'll be on playa already

It looks like he'll be at the REno Sparks Convention center which is right across the street from the Atlantis Hotel Casino (just an FYI for anyone who might be staying there)
Oh my god, it's HUGE!
