One of the failures of the lottery is the exclusion of so many people from out of country. I'm only in Canada, but even I feel the effects you're talking about. I can't imagine how tough it would be from France. Good luck man!

One ticket for me, at $240! Woohoo!

That was the only tier I could afford at this time, and I didn't think I had much of a chance. So, I am very excited and thankful. I hope everyone else eventually gets their tickets as well. :D

I for one will not be buying one of those $640 tickets. I'd rather rent a beachfront cabin in Baja than have to pay that.

I know, right? I think my no-ticket back-up vacation destination is Spain. It's nearing 4 am here, and I'm starting to think that I may not be winning this round. :?

I've read it from the moderators, from the BMORG, from the main ticket page, from the FAQ, and in the JRS. You missed it? Here's one of the quotes:
FAQ wrote:It does help prevent scalpers from purchasing tickets. Our ticket vendor has advanced filtering techniques to flag duplicates and prevent multiple entries from entering the system.
I don't think it worked the way they said it would. Unless all those 1000s of tickets on the scalper websites are all legit....

The cost of airfare for me to go to Europe was about as much as the entire trip to Burning Man last year. The rest of the trip was another huge chunk and it wasn't even for tourism. :\ For myself, I'd probably fork out $640 if deciding between the two.

I'm sorry, but where does it say that it is "impossible" or that scalping could "never" happen? The only "impossible" or "never" I found was in the quote of your message above. The mods have also never (there's that word again) used those words in the context of guarantees that the system is scalping-proof.

Really, I always wonder why people who live in such worlds of make-believe where systems can be perfectly foolproofed even deign to go to Burning Man.

Sorry, no news. I'd say that you'll only be completely sure once you've received a message confirming or denying that you've received tickets. Supposedly they'll send you a "YOU GOT DENIED BITCH" email if you did not win tickets explaining how to proceed with March's sale.

If there are fewer people reporting winning now, it's probably the hour of the night, not necessarily because the frequency is lower (though still quite possible).

Nobody says those things, as far as I know.
The point is, the new system was sold to us as necessary to prevent scalping, and yet, scalping is rampant as ever - perhaps even moreso this year.
(Are you still having trouble seeing the point here? It didn't work.)

Not sure what that sentence was meant to say, but if you meant "you're crazy to want this to be perfect", I didn't say I wanted it to be perfect. Here's my point, nice and clearly stated:

THE NEW SYSTEM DIDN'T WORK AS PROMISED

for the last time, playing this song over and over will NOT manifest you your tickets, for god's sake man, you have gone too far this time with your obsessive compulsive superstitious behavior.
