If step comes through for me and I get a ticket, all my STEPsiblings are invited to come say hi to me on the playa. I'll be the one with a big "12:24" henna'd on me somewhere visible.

I was thinking less permanent like shirts or bandannas, maybe stickers. Perhpas we could get the greeters to stamp people with their arrival time. A great art project would be a giant stamp that you have to lay down under to get a giant stamp. Kind of like doing virgins doing dust angels...

hahahah! That's actually pretty funny.

No doubt someone has already suggested a Time Stamp Camp but it would be a good place to celebrate our perseverance, our OCD, and poke a bit of fun at BMLLC. Hopefully we won't have to set up Time Stamp Camp in Reno cause we don't have tickets!!! Or...how much would it cost to rent the town of Gerlach? I bet it's cheaper than several hundred $490 tickets!

Hmmm...good though EmilyD, but perhaps Empire would be better, as it's for sale I think. Had thought to create a gaint set of Tarot cards to play with on the playa, and I can't see why I couldn't add Time Stamps to them

Looking at the time of your post, I think you must be the recipient of the ticket that I was awarded last Thursday at 3:10, but did not claim since I got distributed ticket. Congrats!!!!! See you on the playa.

One thought... if all of these tickets are will call pickups, I wonder if they will staff up the booths a bit more this year. I certainly hope so. Otherwise, I'm bringing a BBQ

any word on when tickets get sent and STEP more or less ends? other than "early June."
I'm hoping about on one foot, shaking rattles and not buying a new dustmask.

Tickets get sent next month, unless they've changed it. All those who bought tickets will call or are coming from outside the US and Canada who choose to, can put their tickets into STEP until August, I believe.

Canadians can get their tickets shipped to them (or held at Will Call), but all other

* Will Call orders (besides Low Income)
* International orders
* previously purchased STEP tickets being sold again

can be sold via STEP through August 7th.

This is frighting because it could mean a huge frustrating halt to already frustrating STEP. I wish that they would at least wait 1 more month before they ship tickets.

I agree, it might be nice to ship in early July, yes.

But the other folks getting to use STEP through August 7th is a good thing. I don't have the stats on Overseas travelers, or people who choose Will Call, but they are not completely insignificant numbers.

You'd think they would alter things just a bit considering that is would stop a lot more scalping AND give STEP more of a chance... considering they took the 10K tickets back from the Open Sale, the idea shouldn't be too farfetched.

I think that a) more changes would raise even more stink, and b) that they are already dealing with more will call people than last year or any year before.

We've all looked at this for the past four months, and many--most--of us have suggested changes, usually in our favor. On one level the job of the llc is to see "big picture" things about the process and to balance the various constituency. It's very easy for us to armchair quarterback. And it's not like the llc is infallible. I just don't think there's likely to be more changes at this time.

I totally agree with you Vampire (or do you prefer Kitten?)
Delaying the mailing of paper tickets - say until first week of July.... is in everybody's best interest.
Not only does it give us in the STEP queue a better chance...
it ALSO gives burners who did get tickets and then realize they can't go a little longer to sell back into STEP- which we all know is the best and most reliable way to resell.
and on top of that it ALSO makes the BMORG look really good, because then they can claim a more successfull rate of ticket fullfillment through STEP.

That's what I call a TRIPLE win. Win-Win-Win

I also think this is very unlikely to happen-
I don't believe the org is infallible- nor do I expect them to be- I know they are doing the best they can with the excessive demand for tickets this year, and I wouldn't blame them one bit for not wanting to monkey with anything else- but a 12:17er can hope!!

I'm glad that I am not the only one who thinks so. Just looking at the "Tickets for Sale" board scares me, I asked Trilobyte a while back about the possibility of scammers on the board and BM isn't responsible for what happens or money exchange, just transfers. Maybe it's just me, but it just freaks me out over the possibility that I could be scammed on ePlaya of all places. MoonBabyy, you are thinking exactly what I was as far as it benefiting everyone. Who knows, if it was postponed a bit more and we get through this line of STEP then just maybe the STEP list could be opened up again for other people.
