Every time I try to click on the "tickets" button I get sent to this link

There is no tickets "button". Can you be a bit more specific?

Without knowing exactly where you are or what you're doing, I'd have to say you're doing it wrong.
The tickets page is located here. On that page, very clearly at the top, right below where it says "BURNING MAN 2012 TICKET INFORMATION" is a link that says "CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR PRE-SALE TICKETS NOW" that appears to work as expected.
I hope that helps. If you're running into a page with a bad link, it would help to tell us the address/URL of the page where you're finding the bad link. Thanks!

It's a skill testing process. If you can't figure out how to click on "CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR PRE-SALE TICKETS NOW".. perhaps you are not self reliant enough for the event.
Can you at least admit that nuclear explosions are awesome!?

That will certainly take you to the photo's section of the BM site.Perhaps clicking the "CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR PRE-SALE TICKETS NOW" link (right below that) would work a bit better.
But that would be restating the obvious...

It's amazing how the mind focuses in on things. When my sisters were quite young, the family lived in London. (this was before I made my debut.) One day in early spring my mother took my sisters out for a walk in some park, where the first bulb flowers were beginning to blossom. "Look at the crocuses, look at the crocuses!" she called out multiple times. At the end of the walk my second sister was calling bobbies crocuses. Even we are looking at the same landscape, we see different things.
