I totally understand. It's not that I mind waiting until tickets begin to be redistributed or that I mid waiting to see if I qualify for a low income ticket... It's that I'm travelling to get there and need waaay advanced notice to pull it off. That's where the stress lies. I would be 100 times less concerned if I was just driving over from San Francisco or something. I think that applies to all the theme camp planners and art project makers out there too.

Like in said in another thread, airlines releases cheaper tickets only around 4/5 months before the travel date (for international travel). Sign up for price drop alerts and keep an eye out on here and also for tips on farecompare.com. Keep watching the deals. Also, if you can travel on a weekday instead of weekend. That considerably lowers your ticket price.
I don't know what your story is, but I hope you dont miss burning man because you couldnt find RV or bikes. You can do without both. It's nice to have them, but without it would just be different kind of fun.

Hey, I brought home an abandoned playa bike last year (helping to de-moop the best I could), so I have two. I can lend an international burner a bike!

Being a native Carsonite (Carson city, Capital of Nevada) i had seen all the burners coming in to the rib cook off after the burn, as a little girl I asked my mom "what is wrong with those people mom?" I was so confused. She tried her best to explain to me why these people were in public covered in white dust and in funny costumes. As an adult i started to understand what was going on, but still had no desire to attend. Again, the fiancee' shows me pics and tells me stories about his escapades in the playa. I started to get excited last year, but we couldn't afford it. This year is another story, we are getting married July 28th 2012 and guess who will be in Black Rock City almost a month to the day after our wedding???? CHYEA!!!! 320x 2!!!!!! Can't wait to meet everyone and participate, contribute, and play! I think I might be heading home for the first time ever! much love <3 <3 <3
Wow, great story! I really hope you make it. I hope I do, too............ :)

It is hard to not be upset of waiting/planning/preparing for one of the last places on earth that has a collection of people who are 100% true to themselves and others (Humans) the way we all should be everywhere....but it is not. But in this special place to the humans that have not left this website all day & night we are just ready to join the ones that have got a gift from lady luck.....luck so that what it all comes down to huh? Not being human after all, well that is just how it is going to be. I will be here all night to see who gets picked and yes let lady luck take you for that ride that dusty ride into what I hope is the future way of thought

2 tickets at 240!!!!!!!

I have been addicted to this board since I woke up, literally getting nothing done and I had completely given up. My man told me to forget about it for an hour and get a drink and when I returned I found my magic email. Good luck to everybody! Don't give up, see you all on the playa!

It's not that I'm into RVs it's just that I can't travel with a tent (you can just have one suitcase), and I already did 4 burns and without a bicycle I don't see the point when I love biking around the deep playa to see the art and stuff... As for the airline fare, believe me, the cheapest is now. i'm a huge traveller and the sooner you book the cheapest. I knew since the borg announced it was gonna be a casino game this year (Nevada spirit?) that I won't be in, I never had chance at game...

Just like there are RVs in the US, there are also tents. And unlike RV rentals, there are unlimited tents for sale. To claim that you can only go to Burning Man if there is an RV left in the country to rent is silly, because every town in the country has thousands of tents for sale. I share your pain, but I'm afraid your reasons just don't add up. :p

2 at $390 confirmed!!!

first time for 2010Metropolis, skipped 2011, bringing a virgin for 2012Fertility2.0!

I don't quite understand all the hate for this. I think it comes down the oh so common sense of over entitlement that I have noticed is spreading like a virus throughout the world, all cultures and 'counter' cultures.

I only hope all of those that did get tickets truly appreciate them and the experience they will have, because for each person that gets to go there is at least one that wanted to. Those that gamed the system, think for a second when something happens that just sucks a lot (run out of gas on the way, lose a ticket, break your favorite something).

You shouldn'a donethat.

I CANT WAIT!!!!

It is ONE on the at least 3 reasons. The major one is the airplane fare... And I'm not really into buying stuff every year to get rid of them after a week, this is call consumerism and I thought it was not a burning man thing, but apparently I was wrong. Thanks for cheering me up, you are such a darling..

BMORG's editor could use a little less caffeine, I think. I can condense this run-on sentence down and make it a lot more readable (and true):
BMORG wrote:STEP will give Burners with extra tickets a safe, no-hassle way to sell their tickets back into the community, and a way for those needing tickets to buy them at face value without the worry of over-inflated prices, scams or possible counterfeit tickets.
1) "Safe", "without scams", and "without possible counterfeit tickets" all mean the same thing. Just go with "safe".
2) "At face value" and "without over-inflated prices" mean the same thing. Just go with "face value".
3) "Burners with extra tickets" and "their tickets" is superfluous. Drop one.
4) "No-hassle" isn't a word. Go with "easy".
5) "The community" and "those needing tickets" are the same group. Drop one.
6) Remove other redundant words and punctuation.

That's what they meant to say, and now you can actually understand it at a glance. K.I.S.S.

Yeah, still no email. How'd you guess? *bites fingernails off, then bites fingers down to the second knuckle or so*

That made me laugh! Then again, I was sitting here bitching about how outlook is simply the dumbest thing because it must be deleting my emails before I ever recieve them..(refreshing every 2 sec).. then I got a ticket and regained my sanity. Good luck!

Buying tents; sleeping bags, camping stuff, bicycles.. yes. But again thanks for cheering me up. Where do you live agaiN? I guess it's easier to give lessons when you don't have to deal with that kind of logistic..
