No Ticket - Best Outcome Possible!
No Ticket - Best Outcome Possible!
I've been 10 times over the past dozen years and not getting tickets this year is a boon.
Love it!
I normally spend at least $5k just going, $10k if I'm involved in an art project, camp or conclave.
This year my budget is $0.00!
Going to fly out to Europe for "Slava" and Xmas with the family, and trust me when I say, it will be done on $3k budget.
I have a feeling this will be a big transition year for BM; a letdown year, just like it was after the dot-com bubble burst.
What are the rest of you losers going to do with all that money?

Change happens. God forbid that BM isn't the same ol' experience every year after year.

Not sure yet. Could probably stay drunk all summer just on what the drive would have cost alone.
Re: No Ticket - Best Outcome Possible!
I've been spending my money on art and costumes supplies and I've been sewing away all week. Entering the presale to give myself extra time to prep looks real good right now.
Have fun in europe... BM 2012 is just going to be too much fun to pass up.

Don't forget to pm that virgin your gps coordinates, Dougly.
You know, and I'm not a central crucial figure in a theme camp, but...what if someone did bring the burn home? I have this vision, take that theme camp know how and use it to throw a block party. Obviously, the nudity and the free bars might have to scale back to little or nothing (okay, I'm leaving that in because I think it's funny), but I bet you could still have some goofy art projects.

A couple years ago after the burn sharing stories around the bar, one of our recruited newbies, shook his head in wonder and asked why we put so much effort and money and love into doing something that we could essentially be doing at home in our own backyards for free. So if I don't go this year, I'll see if I can have as much fun in my own backyard.

AntiM, you keep me faithful.
I met you at a burn some years back--don't even remember what year--and, I hope to run across you again this year. With any luck we'll be serving root beer somewhere around the 9 o'clock plaza.

I'll be shilling art at Barbie Death Camp.
Homemade root beet? Or I'll bring my own, have to avoid the preservatives.

good luck!
Naturally occurring substances such as salt, rosemary extract, sugar, vinegar, alcohol, hops, and diatomaceous earth are also used as traditional preservatives. Certain processes such as freezing, pickling, smoking and salting can also be used to preserve food.

Yes, dear.
Specifically, sodium benzoate. Or potassium benzoate. In a quantity as large as contained in an average soda, gives me wretched flu-like symptoms.

Screw that, take the year off Burning Man, devote your time and efforts to changing public indecency and alcohol zoning laws so we can all have block parties with free booze and nudity.

Symbiosis is a good thing. Not saying it is not. I am being judgemental only to vent that it is not an option for me.
Not enough shirt cockers. Gotta have my shirt cockers!
