Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
STEP QUESTION:
has there been a "second round" of STEP tickets yet? meaning, I know many STEP-ers were offered tix that first day (march. 2nd)...
but i am wondering: did that first day's offers use up all the tix that had been sitting in STEP? have more people continued to donate to STEP? after the first 72 hr. window,
were there some declined (ie: upper tier) STEP tix that went back into the pool?
i remember BMorg said they expected an "early influx" of tix, followed by a "slow trickle"....just wondering how slow that slow trickle is...
(I am a 12:16 STEP hopeful!)

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
I have only been seeing single tix going out in STEP...except for one couple the first day. Any couples getting tickets through STEP? Anyone have any insight into how that works?

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Read back through - lots of people are saying they got "tickets" as in plural. As in more than 1.
It does not matter whether you put in for one or two - your place in the line is your place in the line. That is what will determine when you will get an email with an offer of the Golden Tickets(s)
Cheers

Ticket notification emails are coming in all day every day in both singles and doubles dependent on how many you originally registered for. We're in the 12:08pm emails now and working our way later.

Thank you guys for squelching my paranoia, I needed that!

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Wow! STEP just went from "completely useless" to "potentially awesome" in my mind. I'm a 1210er so I will make room on my card and start checking my email 47 times a day instead of the 42 of late.junglesmacks wrote:We're in the 12:08 emails now
I just found out that my ex wife (imagine a typical Burner, and then imagine the exact opposite..... that's her!) just had my passport nullified because I owe her money. I can't get out of Canada now. I don't care, I'm buying tickets through STEP if given the opportunity, and I'll find some way to make it happen. This will be my 5th year and my girlfriend's 4th. Burning Man has become our way of life and gets us through cold Canadian winters. We miss it and think about it EVERY day and the idea of not being able to go home again rips us apart. I'll dig a tunnel under the border if I have to, I'M GOING HOME IN 2012!!!!

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Hmmmm, not many fingernails left as our camp awaits word if we get some of the final 10,000. Also, not a ping or blip from STEP since my confirmation email. Has anyone here gotten tickets from STEP since last week? And...where are you finding the time slot info? Is it what's on the confirmation email or what?

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
The time stamp is the time on your confirmation email. It should be anywhere from 12:01 - 12:20something. Your email time dictates your place in line from what we've seen. Last reported ticket was in the 12:09pm time stamp..

12:08 and still waiting. I don't think they work on the weekends and maybe that's why no new posts regarding getting a STEP tix since frinday?

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Thanks junglesmacks, that's what I thought. Weird thing is mine shows 8:08PM!!! Stupid Hotmail...I had a look at the message's code and it shows 12:25. So, not a very good time for getting a ticket this way. Fingers crossed for camp to come through.junglesmacks wrote:The time stamp is the time on your confirmation email. Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Dang, no new tickets issued (that we know of) for several days. I hope some more trickle in soon. Let's fill up those 1208s and move on!

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
The steady flow of tickets last week was really giving me a small glimmer of hope. Now I'm starting to worry again, since it has slowed from a trickle to nothing. NO tickets since Friday?!!

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
It was mentioned that they had "A few hundred" tickets in stock to give to the first STEP people..
I'm guessing that has all been used up and it's going to be a trickle from now on, as people realise they can't go, or cancel for whatever reason.
There will be a lul now of course, as all the original people who got too many tickets in the lottery have likely sold them back to STEP already, and it will be more likely canmcellations that find there way back now.
There's still many months until BM..
Don't give up hope people!

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
thought I'd share: someone on facebook mentioned they got a ticket this morning & were at 12:10.
& also that they had a friend who was after them, who'd gotten his ticket yesterday.

Hmm.. I wonder if an email to partiserv (at) burningman.com might clear that up and check your place in queue..

I'm a 12:09 and haven't heard anything yet either. I wouldn't worry too much quite yet, but if you do hear anything from partiserv, be sure to let the board know.

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Double check all spam filters as well to make sure you're not missing your email!
Everyone needs to remember that the time stamps are an approximation of where you are in the queue, there's no way of knowing your exact placement. The tickets do seem to be going roughly by time stamp, but there does seem to be some minor variation, I have no idea why.

STEP FAQ wrote:Q: Will I know my place in the queue?
A: No. We don’t have that capability built into the current STEP system.
Q: Will I get some advance warning that I’m close to the front of the queue?
A: No. You’ll need to keep an eye on your email for notification.

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
my theory is that some people received their confirmation emails almost instantly, and some people's were bounced around cyberspace for a few minutes before they made it to the inbox. so, if your place in line is, for example, #560 and you got your confirmation at :08, but the person who got their confirmation at :10 and was already offered STEP tix was, for example, #540, maybe it's just that their actual email arrived later because of some slow servers.

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
No you may not email Participant Services to check your place in the queue. It's important to note that no queue information is provided. People trying to glean their place in line based on the timestamp on their email should know that those timestamps come from various servers and providers around the internet, and not from Burning Man.junglesmacks wrote:Hmm.. Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
Just got a note from a camp-mate who was a 12:10'r and reported he got a STEP ticket. Maybe 2. Certainly 1.
