Tickets in the mail !
Re: Tickets in the mail !
No email and no credit card charge. How are you supposed to head over to 4th of Juplaya if you have to stick around for the arrival of your ticket?
My friend got his after getting that email that it was on the way. This was yesterday or today. Does anyone know if it's USPS or UPS?

Re: Tickets in the mail !
If you had been awarded tickets in either of the drawings your card would have been charged at that time (same time as the email confirming that you had been awarded tickets). Tickets are sent out via USPS.

Re: Tickets in the mail !
This one has me flabbergasted. Mostly because of Juplaya's reputation as being all wild and against the sort of accomodations that include registered mail. The temptation is to tell Super Suz to let go and live a little...Super Suz wrote:How are you supposed to head over to 4th of Juplaya if you have to stick around for the arrival of your ticket?

Maybe this answers my 4th Juplaya question:
http://faq.usps.com/eCustomer/iq/usps/r ... e:embedded
says there the following:
Accountable Mail (item requiring a signature):
•If no one is available when the delivery is attempted the first time, the letter-carrier will leave a PS Form 3849, Delivery Attempt Notice.
•This form notifies the addressee that an article is being held for them at the Post Office and will be available for pick-up the following business day.
•The addressee also has the option to have the item redelivered; it will not be done automatically. •Five days after the first notice is left, a second delivery notice will be left.
•This item will be held for a number of days based on the specific service (usually 15 days).
•If it is not claimed, the item will be returned to the sender.

There's still that little issue of you not actually having a ticket. Whoops!

If you are going to be gone for over 15 days, its best to ask postal service to hold your mails.Super Suz wrote: Accountable Mail (item requiring a signature):

This can be done.
Personally though, I dont think we should waste the perfect opportunity to panic.

Juplaya has been cancelled anyhow, just stay home and wait for your ticket.

Nah, they just moved it downtown Reno. This way you can stay at the Sands instead of *in* the sand.oneeyeddick wrote:Juplaya has been cancelled anyhow, just stay home and wait for your ticket.

Today my friend said, I can't find my burning man tickets! I looked everywhere. Did I tell you where I put them?! I'm really freaking out.
I had to assure him his tickets haven't come yet this year. He forgot that his tickets hasn't come yet, he was thinking about the tickets from last year.
I told him he'll get an email. Hope my email comes soon too... I'm scheduled to be out of town July 4th-8th. ...

Really? You didn't seize that golden opportunity to send him on the wildest of wild ticket scavenger hunts? Re: Tickets in the mail !
s0 i got my email today!
it says NO TICKET for me!!
..well sort of at least..
the past few years id get a 'gift' ticket mailed to me late in the summer due to my on-playa volunteering workload.. (oddly these dont include any atomic fireballs or candy.. ) ....this year the email i got seems to imply that i will get no ticket at all..(not even one to have as a novelty item!) ...i will have to get my 'credentials' at the gate/box office when i get to the event.. and that will be "all need to get into the event site" ...s0 i guess i dont even need the email they sent me.. cuz theres no special codes or info on it... (i will bring it anyways)
does this mean im on the guest list?
i wonder if this change has anything to do with how the LLC is handling staff numbers this year with the BLM.. in terms of tickets handed out/population?

No email yet for me. I got mine in the Dec. lottery. Maybe they're working backward? When I was whining to my Mom today about this, her compassionate reply was "They're probably trying to tell you something."

Re: Tickets in the mail !
@lemur - credentials are being used in lieue of tickets in certain cases with certain team/crew members. It still gets you into the event, but it also streamlines any kind of exit/re-entry process (particularly helpful with essential setup crew, outside service providers, and certain department team members.
@jcliff - you're fine, there are still LOTS of people who have not yet gotten a shipment notification email. It may be another week or so before all the orders to date are mailed.

Re: Tickets in the mail !
yes thats something theyve done in the past for getting in/out easier..etc... it was something done after seeing your ticket.. seems to make bit more sense to get rid of the ticket part since theyd already been giving out stuff that would identify in some way already..

Re: Tickets in the mail !
I'm wondering what will happen with those of us who had tickets transferred to us from the original owner. When we/they did so, there was no place to enter in the new owner's email address. Will the original owner therefore get an automatic notification email or will just none go out?

Re: Tickets in the mail !
I am in this exact same situation. My understanding is that the original email is being sent to her, so I've asked her to keep an eye out for it and forward it to me if/when it arrives. Haven't seen it yet.junglesmacks wrote:I'm wondering what will happen with those of us who had tickets transferred to us from the original owner. AND I'm chewing my fingernails hoping the transfer worked properly, because she's moved to a new address now. If they send to her original place...

OK, have to stop scaring myself with random doom scenarios now.
