Looking for an officiant :(

Post by azee bazee » Thu Aug 06, 2015 9:27 am

Hi all,
We just received an email from our officiant saying she wont be able to officiate our ceremony because her license needed to be renewed (she wasnt aware of this) but she's travelling and won't be able to in time.
My fiancee Arjun is an Indian passport holder & Sikh, I am an Iranian passport holder & Muslim. We live in Dubai but can only get officially married in the US, the Carribeans and Cyprus. Seeing that we are mad BM lovers, it seemed like the best idea to get official there this year.
The date we have chosen is the 3rd, at sunset, the location will be confirmed within the next 2 weeks. Suggestions are welcome :) we'd be looking for a 'love'ly art installation as a backdrop. We already have a photographer, guests, outfits and a party organized.
I'd really appreciate any help introducing us to an officiant, male or female that may be interested in helping us out. Our's will be a New Agey and quick ceremony, we're not fussy.
Many thanks and much love,
Azadeh

This totally gave me the feels.

We've come so far for love.

Boundaries have been overcome for so many who wanted to do nothing more than marry the person they love most in this world, this year.

Your story shows how much farther we all have to go on this journey of making lives and loves better, stronger, and longer lasting.

I do hope you find your officiant. There are plenty on the playa.

A million dusty hugs to you and your fiancé.

If I remember correctly, there's a whole notifying the county thing that goes on, and I'm not sure what the timeline on that is.
If it doesn't work out, get married in Reno. They make it very easy.

(Though why they don't have to inform the county beforehand... *confused*)

You could contact the Two Lanterns camp. That's their specialty. They did mine.

I'm giving this a nudge over to the Q&A board, since that's a better fit for general preparation questions. There are already some great answers - good luck in getting everything sorted out!
