New sheriff cracking down on nudity in 2015?

I've been reading interviews with Jerry Allen, the new Pershing County sheriff. He seems to be saying he's going to be going after people for being naked in public. Do you think he's serious, or is this just political posturing to make him look good to the voters? Am I risking a ticket or a jail cell for walking around naked this year?

He backed off on his statement. I think he will be fine. Pershing County police have always been very pleasant to deal with. From what I have read, the new Sheriff feels he was misquoted.

Yeah, but this is his "backing off"

"I did make the statement I can't go out there and cite 70,000 people for being nude. That was maybe an error on my part. I know there aren't 70,000 people out there who are nude." Allen explained he believes nudity between consenting adults is one thing, but another thing all together when it comes to children who are exposed to it. He said, "You can't do that in other parts of the county. It is considered by state law, open and gross lewdness."

Honestly, we're not going to know how this plays out until we're there. They don't have the staffing to go after everyone, but I have a feeling they will try to get a person or people for "lewd conduct" to score political points in the county. If you're going to be naked, be a naturalist about it - casual and relaxed (which almost every single naked person is). Naked or clothed, avoid getting sexual in any public spaces (ie: visible casually. Orgy Dome and the like should be fine). They used to arrest people for "public lewdness", but it's seemed to drop way off in recent years.

And the things about those nudity laws is that they are always there if they want to arrest/hassle you. Useful to have something like that around...

Yep...there we were Greeting Naked on Wed as per usual...I think I saw 1 LEO during the shift. That said, 75% of the 4-hour shift was a whiteout...
