Bling

Post by Elderberry » Mon Sep 14, 2015 11:32 am

When I got home from BM this year, I found all of my bling in one twisted and tangled pile that took way too long to straighten out.

How do you all store your bling to keep the chains/lanyards from tangling all together?

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I have tie racks to hang them at home. While traveling, I hook them onto a carabiner clip, and wrap them in something. Still somewhat tangly.

I have a carved piece of wood with a wall hanger at the top, and maybe two dozen little hooks embedded in it an inch apart. You can easily hang at least two necklaces per hook; more if you're careful.

I also like Figjam's style in using a chain; I can't see what he's using to hang the items on there (small caribeeners?) but some thin S-hooks from the hardware store would also work.

Pin buttons just get pinned through the chain.

Anything with a lanyard or chain goes around the bottom chain and the bling fed back through it's own loop. 8)

I made necklaces as gifts this year (which were immensely popular). But I faced the same conundrum in order to keep them separated and untangled.

bling as in necklaces? I am a magpie and wear it all until I get back. then they go in the jewelry box with all of my other precious shinies. (I only wore 4 necklaces today, thankyouverymuch.)

pins get collected in a ziplock as what I receive soon outstrips my cargobelt's capacity.
stickers are tucked into my little notebook.

From doing craft fairs... Materials commonly found at dollar stores
Individual ziploc baggies or envelopes _ bonus easy to write on to sort and identify from out of luggage.
Necklaces- pin onto cork boards if you have space.
Little album books or project folders - with the open up clear pages. Tape the tops closed if they are going to fall out when you move or open the book.
Common notebook, tape or staple/pin between two pages.
Earrings/pins/ small and looseable. Pill boxes or craft/tackle boxes - make sure they snap closed

Or just wear it all as mentioned. Or try to at least dump into a different pocket each night so it will only be one days worth of tangled when you sort it out later.
