Drone Retrieval for surendered Drone

Post by Principleyogi369 » Fri Sep 08, 2023 1:22 pm

**** Looking for the contact information of the drone confiscation department from Burning Man 2023- POST EVENT!

Hello fellow burners,

I hope you guys are surviving after this last life moment we all experienced together. I am thankful we all made it out together and in one piece. Now, I need some assistance. I handed over my drone when entering Burning man at the gate. This was my first burn, I was completely underprepared and unforatunly brought it with me last minute. I was told to pick it up after the event on tuesday when I was leaving BN. However due to the weather conditions they extended this years burn until Thursday night. Leaving me in confusion on when to pick it up since they informed me at Media Center on Monday, that if I retrieved my drone before leaving the festival I was as rick for it to be confiscated again.... On Wednesday I tried to retrieve my drone and the camp media center was gone.... I tried talking to the rangers, to the information directors, and no one could fine the people who help the drones..... I left in an emotional wreck since I need my drone for my upcoming work trip overseas & have been trying to get ahold of the group to get it back. I have contacted [email protected] - [email protected]- as well as a guy named Gaberial who was mentioned in the drone PDF pamphlet on the drone page of the burning man website. It has been two days and still no one has gotten back to me. I am leaving in a few days for my work trip and am in desperate need of assistance to track down the group who has all of the drones, and more importantly talk to them about overnighting my drone to me in Nevada before I fly to Spain on the 15th of September.

If there is anyone on this forum that has information of the department that I can talk to about retrieving my DJi3 mini pro drone + screened RC controller in a medium sized go pro box I would greatly appreciate it. I am at your mercy.

Sincerely,
Alyssa-ra

Hey!

The same thing happened to me. I posted about this in September on e-playa and no one got back to me.

Did you make any progress with getting your drone back? Did anyone respond to you?

Eplaya is a chat forum. That’s people who choose to post and discuss stuff. A member of the organization may stop in, but to be honest it’s a ghost town these days. It does not respond to policy or event complaints.

There are loads of contact emails on the main website for all the departments. If I were you I’d be writing emails, maybe lots, shotgun, and ask for the courtesy of forwarding to the proper address.

Drone policy is pretty well documented. Maybe your takeaway will be to read the materials provided before your next burn. Good luck.
