Hi there we were wondering what y’all drive to BM, what you sleep in and I’ve heard that rebar is required? Looking for some solid answers and I have kids:) Xxo

Hi, welcome to ePlaya.

The best thing you can do if planning to attend - read the Survival Guide. Read it several times as it is a significant document very dense with critical information. Study it until you are an expert.

Some answers.

Viable modes of transport to burning man that have been used in the past:

Bicycle, motorcycle, passenger vehicles of all kinds, cargo vehicles of all kinds, trucks, semi-truck, recreational vehicles, bus, airplane, and camel. Camels are no longer allowed ;)

Sleeping can be as simple as a beach lounger under the stars, tents, campers, vans, cargo trucks etc. Recreational vehicles and tents tend to be the most popular.

Rebar cut to ~ 2 foot length has been popular as a tent stake out on the playa as winds are often fierce and substantial anchoring is often needed. Concrete form stakes are usually much safer but cost more. Some have switched to long 18 inch lag bolts that are driven into the ground flush with power tools and can be made super safe wrt tripping and cutting hazard rebar represents.

I have personally always driven a full size truck and have either pulled a camper or used a tent.

That is one huge “tell me how.” Solid answers would be easier if you have more specific questions.

Read the main website, study the survival guide. Find posts here under more specific themes.

Rebar works. I keep rebar in the car, and use 12” galvanized construction spikes (nails) a hammer and a pair of pliers.

I drive a small hatchback.
”On second thought, Let’s not go to Camelot. It’s a silly place.”
Roll on through, Tumbleweed.
