Is there anything online approximates the playa conditions, real time? Any of the DPW/setup crews got a weather station running? Weather Underground gives me Empire as the nearest, and that shows highs in the 70s. Gotta imagine that's mountain-weather, not playa. (I'm a newbie, so not seen the respective towns yet going in.)
Seems that someone, somewhere, would have a live weather station near the playa. BLM/research, something.

Louise and I have been at the Y-intersection between Gerlach and the playa entrance a couple of times directing traffic. The only difference I could tell was that there was no dust storm at the intersection, but there was in BRC (just as windy, though). shrug - I didn't have a portable weather station to note temperatures and windspeeds, so it's what it seemed to be.

It's probably hotter & windier on the site compared to town.
The NWS regional & zone forecasts are probably the most useful tools, just figure the area weather flips around every six days or so, add 10-15 degrees to regional temps for the playa, and count on daily local wind cycles.
