Hats - Done

Umbrella - Done

Boots - Done

Bikes - Done except lights

Coats - 1/2 done

Trailer insulation replacement - 1/2 done

Clothes, costumes, equipment, backpack stuff now in dedicated staging area.

Shade Structure - Still in limbo. Trying not to freak out about most important item.

Cool discovery, there are a couple of burners just down the street. 7 year veterans who were happy to exchange helpful tips. We may try to bend rebar together since they need some too.

Hat from etsy arrived today.

Made a list of to do's for the burn for this week:

1. Get all my "burn" clothes out of boxes and wash them, even if they seem clean. If they can't go in the machine, hand wash, spot clean, or dry clean.

2. Try everything on and make sure it still fits and is in good repair. If it needs to be fixed or altered, DO IT.

3. Retrieve all clothes that I use at the burn AND in the default world, wash, repair, etc.

4. Check, double check, and tripple check my supply list against my stores at home and see if I should beef up the reserves a little.

5. Finish dress for burn night

6. Set up wigwam, rinse it, and ensure all poles and parts are in good working order. Repeat with shade structure. Tripple check my rebar sock pile and make sure I have enough, plus some for people who forgot.

7. Decide to sacrafice my awesome featherbed to the playa because i never want to look at an air mattress again.

8. Make another tutu because I can't stop

I love the UPS guy! Today, we got a shade structure to put over our daughter's tent, and my misting system arrived! We'll hook that up with a manual garden sprayer and put it up under the shade structures to cool us off. :D

No, I definately don't remember that. However, it does remind me of a story from college

When I was a freshman, I was a very timid Christian girl who didn't really know anything about the big bad world. I made friends with a guy down the hall from me in the dorms and he made it his new mission to introduce me to the world and corrupt me. Soon after meeting him, he decided to take me to my first sex shop (where I would later work and teach classes!) and he decided to buy a 13 inch long midnight black dildo that said, appropriately, "the punisher" on the the side.

I wasn't quite sure what he had in mind for that dildo...but I wasn't sure if I liked it. He invited me back to his room, and I demured (I didn't want to get myself into any situation I wasn't comfortable with). He insisted, and eventually, I relented. Instead of getting skeezy, he hid behind the door to his room waiting for unsuspecting fellow dormers to wander by. When someone came too close to his door, he would pop out, wack the person with the dildo and scream, "YOU HAVE BEEN PUNISHED" while pointing in their face. It was a fabulous afternoon, to be sure, and Aaron has been affectionately known as the Punisher ever since.

Alright....end tangent.

In Living Color was a good show.

I don't need an excuse to bash people in the head, though.

Last night I divvied up some pills to save for the playa. That counts, right??

I supported some sweat shops by buying some more led string lights. They are not for bashing people in the head with though...

Mmmmm snuggly.

I'm walking around in my platform work boots today to break them in. They're really comfy! Working on my coat...DAMN it's slow-going. All this hand sewing of lights and felt is making me tired. It's so fucking cold here though, good sewing weather. If it ever gets sunny again, I'll be able to finish weather-stripping the trailer. July in San Francisco jesusfuckingbrrr!

I have the same stuff in my van as seat covers and every time I get out of the car I get zapped in the ass. I'm planning on redoing the covers after Burning Man. ;-)

Hmmmm is there static electricity on the Playa?

Yes! Trying to brush out long hair is a joke - it's both playafied and completely full of static.

In regards to shopping in Reno, do places like Trader Joe's really stock enough food (say meat and such) for the swarm that's coming in?

I'm wondering about this too.. Are the Walmarts usually stocked with 50,000 gallons of drinking water or what?

Got a CRAZY skirt from a friend last night. Apparently she bought it at Macy's in the mid 90's...it's fabulous! Needs a bit of altering...but! that's half the fun!

She also gave me a pair of thigh lenth vinyle black stilleto boots. Not terribly comfortable....but a good piece for a specific event or two on the playa!

Headed to the burner bazaar at mission control tomorrow. Pretty excited about it...might be some good things for me to snag!
