One Item for BM a Day (2010-2012)

Here's the test..

an old apple crate.. dark gray from age.. need to apply a new paper sign and make it appear as old as the crate..how to apply it? color of paper?

coloring paper to look old is fairly simple. Boil water will its rolling and overdo it with coffee or tea bags. Say for 8 ounces of water, instead of using one teabag, use 3 or 4. You can brush it on or I had a friend that soaked hers, crumbled it up in balls carefully took it apart and hung it. It looked nice but I would probably destroy it if I tried to do that.

Coloring is easy though.

It's a fashion rule, from East Coast people of that class that had summer homes where the dress was more casual, and possibly included white sneakers, in summertime at the shore, or maybe in the mountains. I can anchor it perfectly, but that's the general idea. Most of us on this board do not belong to that social class.
I won't even ask if Serial Mom is one of those movies.

Thanks jella. I worked on it 6 hours today and it's a bit more than 1/2 done. I have the next two days free to focus on BM prep and I really want to finish this sucker. Back to the studio I go now.

Last night I finalized the screen printing design for my camp gifts/costumes, and while there designed a sticker for the laydeez (which I'll post on the blog at some point).

Got home nice and fat with tequila, finished pinning my AFP skirt and decided to make some shorts.

Woke and decided I need to stop making clothes for Burning Man, stat, and actually start packing and getting, like, food or WHATEVER!

We put to-do tasks on a calendar, took the car in to be checked, made an appointment to have the bearings packed on our Gypsy wagon, bought an adapter for our garden sprayer to our misting hose, and got some penetrating oil to spritz the annoying squeak in our weight-distributing hitch.

The rule: no white shoes after Labor Day and NEVER before Easter. I'm not even being politically correct, it's EASTER SUNDAY. We always used it as a general guide to know when to pull out the winter clothes and put them away. It was also an excuse to buy a brand new pair of white shoes, so they'd be nice and shiny for Easter service.

I always thought it was OK to wear white sneakers year round. The white shoes had to match the "church clothes." And that meant flats or pumps, depending on your preference.

You're cracking me up. I'm kinda doing the same thing, wasting too much time on useless amusements instead of real work. Smashy isn't helping either, he keeps going shopping instead of finishing a project. *sigh* Thankfully, the deadline is right around the corner!

Picked up a fleece 'jacket' yesterday. The sleeves will be removed to make it a vest and a string of leds added. Think the sleeves will become leggings.

Goggles came yesterday. Woot I look insectile!

Today 50 W solar panel and charge controller for deep cycle battery. Will start install later today. Also 1 W submersible pump with charge controller and 1.5 W solar panel for swamp cooler.

Got my lab / municipal moop coat... embroidered with my name above pocket. Rei items at store ready for pickup. Nothing exciting there, some decent socks (good clearance prices) and an MSR blacklite cookset I've been coveting for ages. Still waiting on flaming bike tires. and that will be all by mail for this year.
