Last night I finally tackled a long planned project. A hat for my campmate. Abba Zabba. The top is still plain. I may cover the crown. Everything looks so fancy untill you get it out there and it becomes 'hohum'.

This creation consists of an adjustable party store top hat, ladies belt, dollar store mask and eyeballs from a teddy bear. the tiny ball fringe came from a little girls dress. Yes, it also has a chin strap. I'm pleased with it.

After two burns in a 2 person Coleman Sundome tent with a little aluminum shade structure over top, I finally FINALLY ordered a Kodiak tent yesterday. I am beyond geeked to stand up in my tent. STANDING is such a luxury I had not realized. I was at the burn for 10 days last year and vowed to have a tent I can stand in this year. It arrives on Wednesday. EEEEEEK!

I got my Kodiak a month ago and when I set it up I was amazed!!! I could not only stand up, but could stand up anywhere in the tent, not just the middle. Plus it zips up tight, no open mesh panels you can't close against the playa dust. It takes all of 10 minutes to set it up.

Good choice, you will love it.

Found a pair of huge 50 gallon strong tote bins (with lids) at the thrift store for $5 each. They seem more than adequate to each hold one person's allotment of clothes and personal gear, nice and tidy.

Since we are under 100 days, I reassembled my wood combo park bench and picnic table and spent 30 minutes trying to wash the 2015 playa dust off the varnished wood using Dawn dish soap and a scrub brush-after a heavy rain pre-rinsed it.

I had only marginal success.

I guess I will just call it Art.

Finally finished my 20 foot flag. It's one of those banners that you see on the roadside. A couple feet wide and bent at the tip. I'm pleased. Off to buy a tarp and make it fit the shade structure. (My least favorite sewing project.)

Paid my camp dues,Veggie Camp Bitches. Building a big ass coffee table from repurposed lumber for camp, building a food scrap drying rack for camp, been thrift shipping for camp items like carpet, couch, love seat, lighting. And I'm still trying to get the dust out of my vagina from last year.

Made 10 t-shirt gifts at my local community print shop. My daughter loves going with me to help pull the squeegee on the silk-screens and she LOVES cleaning the screens with the power washer they have there. "I feel like a fireman." I fucked up at least 6 shirts but it's a learning process.

So it's officially on. In 90 days from today, I will be leaving the armpit of America (aka Ohio) and heading to my first visit to the playa. Let me just say, yee-fricken'-ha! I'm beyond excited!!! My goggles just showed up in the mail yesterday and picked up a few extras for the GoPro. Is it nerdy to be this excited about the prep as well?

I don't have the means to build an art car, so I'm building my art bike. Fully functional, yet fully funky. My el wire should show up today or tomorrow and I plan to start the paint job next weekend. Got the bike back from the shop over the weekend (was getting all the extra crap stripped off so that I could fix it up real purty-like), and the guys at the shop were pretty stoked to hear where I was taking the bike, and they swapped out my chain for a slightly larger one and added a gear that sort of "floats" in the middle of the chain. Kind of hard to describe, but it looks pretty cool. Pretty generous of them to do that (at no charge) all for the sake of weirdness. My kinda people!

Did a test building of the flat roof last weekend. Mainly to find a sequence that allows me to build it solo. Short of major wind when setting up I should be able to get it built. Changed the plan to cover the back of the truck again. Probably change it again before its all over. HA! Ordered a few more fittings for future expand-ability/layout changes. Put enough together and we can build the 'mall of america' under one shade structure..... LOL

Went through all of the trailer running/turn/brake lights on the trailer. Had a couple that turned on when they felt like it, It was time.

Did a thorough cleaning and prep on the Honda 3000. spare air filter arrived last week. Pick up a spare plug and its ready. Do another oil change just before BM.

Did/Doing some tests on the grey water evap unit. Discovered I need a bigger pump to 'completely' wet the 'entire pad'. With it tripping 100'F daily now I can run it through its paces. It should really burn through the grey water when its done.

In the SW we get to prep for the heat all summer. Should be ready by BM........

And a handful of knick-knack things prepping tie down hardware. Being an over thinker/prepper, I'll have lots of hardware for gifting.

Ordered a few things off the Master List now that I am 'fo sho' going. Trying to spread it out a little...... It was a good weekend!
